The view at this property is so beautiful, the little town is amazing to walk through and see the old style buildings and shops. The hotel was very clean, accommodating and had amazing food at the restaurant bar.. was a beautiful way to end the day on a heated patio next to mountains and water

On cheiin we were given a room in the annex as booked a standard room but we're not happy with it as felt exposed with no blinds or net curtains. We asked if we could have another room and the receptionist moved us, to an upgraded room we think, with no fuss at all, she was very helpful and understanding. We ate in Restaurant Ellen on Saturday night which, although quite expensive, was a real treat. All staff were truly excellent. Our only gripe was that we were not aware the bar and restaurant was closed on Sundays until the evening. The restaurant menu was still on a stand in the entrance indicating it was open. The helpful receptionist suggested a couple of places in town and we enjoyed a meal there. We did not find any shops/cafés open in the morning apart from petrol garage shop. Would highly recommend we had a great stay in a beautiful location with lake view and walk.

Location is superb and grounds are gorgeous! It’s also an easy walk to town and to the Staircase hike which is amazing. Front desk staff was super nice and helpful! True about the lack of AC and it was rather warm during my stay. Overall the benefits of the place outweighed it!

The hotel was situated in a beautiful and quiet location. We chose the room with a river view, which was lovely. However the room was quite stuffy and we did try to open the window to cool the room down but it was still warm, it didn’t have an air-con setting. Also my bed was quite soft so the topper kept moving about as it was quite light so it made for an uncomfortable sleep. This has only happened in this hotel and I have stayed in 7 different hotels and I have no complaints with the other beds. As the hotel charged for parking, we parked in the car park in front of the hotel and left before 8am. We enjoyed eating at the restaurant hotel - Restaurant Ellen . Food was delicious. Highly recommend it.

Firstly, lovely hotel staff who tried to accommodate our needs. Unfortunately we arrived late and were given an enclosed room that looked at a fire escape. After raising it as an issue and playing for an upgrade, we were moved to a room with a view, albeit it a very dated bathroom. To that end I would be very careful about booking an historic room in future.
