The hotel is very dated, yet clean. The bathroom was so clean the small of bleach was overpowering on arrival. The beds were comfy and shower was fine. It was however very noisy and so this impacted sleep - from the streets outside into the early hours and then bottles being cleared early morning. There is no lift and the stairs are very very steep to climb with luggage and for elderly I would not advise. Staff are friendly enough

Convenient location, clean and comfortable, helpful welcoming staff, charming building in classic Dutch style (with very steep narrow stair case). The only downside is that the bar next door was very noisy at night. Might be ok with the window closed but as it was so hot during our stay we had to have the window open. Recommend bringing ear plugs just in case!

A lovely room. Top floor with great views out over the canal. Be mindful the staircases are VERY steep and there is no lift. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, we slept so well. Not at all noisey, probably due to being on the 3rd floor (4th if you’re American). Great location. A 3min walk from nearest tram stop and under 10mins walk to nearest metro. Staff were very helpful and explained everything so well on arrival. Excellent English. I would highly recommend staying here at Hotel Amstelzicht

As long as you’re nimble (beware the staircases), this place is great! Very clean and quiet. Additionally it’s close to most museums and attractions. Never had to walk more than 20 minutes to a destination.

Very cool, old hotel with quirks that you can only find in old European cities. The staff were kind and the beds were comfortable. The stairs were a bit difficult to manage and rather dangerous. There is a great cafe next door. The location can’t be beat.
