Very nice staff - family owned business for nearly 75 years. Rooms were simple, but very clean. Hotel is perfectly located only a 5 minute walk from the train station entrance. Despite busy popular location, hotel is in quite street off the main road from the station. Would definitely stay again. Oh, and the included continental breakfast is a great bonus. Location: The hotel is located in Cannaregio, not too far from the bus station and the train station, in a small side street from a busy shopping street. Which is just cozy. It's a short walk to the water taxis, otherwise you can walk everywhere. Room: Had a single room, with some difficulties with the suitcase, but it worked out fine in the end. A small bathroom, but it worked fine. Misses a fridge in the room, but apart from that it's a room that gives you what you need. Breakfast: Very simple breakfast, but it has improved since I stayed here in 2018. You get full. It's a plus that you get a fresh croissant.

Remember that few old style Italians hotels have lifts so be prepared to heft luggage up, possibly, many stairs. The door on my room would often stick on the jam and the lock was a pain in the neck. Having said that, the location is only 300m from the station and right on the Main Street on the island. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot. The air conditioner made life more pleasant as the afternoons got warmer.

For what it is, it's a 5 star hotel. Couldn't be in a better location if you value ease coming into and leaving the city. Wonderful staff, comfortable rooms, clean and simple accommodations. This is an "inexpensive" hotel option but gives you everything you need except luxury. There are plenty of those hotels throughout the city if that's what you're looking for. As a reminder, breakfast is not included and as of April 2026 cost 10 euro per person. The offerings were simple but sufficient. We would absolutely come back!!

The front desk staff were excellent—very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The hotel is also in a great location: central, convenient, and feels safe at all times. The lobby is nice and well air-conditioned. However, there were some significant issues during our stay. There is no elevator, and our room was on the third floor, which became difficult in extreme heat. The air conditioning only works in the room, not in common areas like the stairwell, making the climb uncomfortable. In the room, the air conditioning eventually cooled the bedroom, but it struggled overall, and the bathroom remained very hot throughout our stay. I would consider staying here again in cooler weather, but in high temperatures, the lack of effective cooling made our stay uncomfortable.
