The hotel was located in a lovely part of Gijón, Spain — I loved the city and would love to come back someday. The area is beautiful, with mountains and the ocean nearby. One thing to note: the hotel did not have AC, even though I believe it was advertised as having it, so you may want to double check before booking.

Last visited this hotel on 2007. It hasn’t changed much, although it looks like they are making a start. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Staff were friendly and helpfully. Don’t expect luxury, but it’s fine if you want a base for a few days.

Can a 1 1/2 star property offer 4 star service? Yes Hotel Begonia is an example of a facility that is absolutely in need of serious renovation but is complimented by an extraordianry staff and an exceptional location in the heart of downtown Gijon. B&B hotels should be ashamed of the condition and lack of amenities offered but they have the right people and thats a good start. Be prepared for no A/C (ask for a fan), old outdated rooms and a very average breakfast. But Fernanda and staff will make the most of their facilities.

Mi valoración no es mejor porque el hotel está en obras de mejora. Y eso siempre son molestias. Y si lo mejoran es porque hay habitaciones que no son actuales, como las dos que ocupé. La primera estaba junto al ascensor del cuarto piso y fué imposible dormir. La ubicación es muy buena pero mientras estén las obras hay que aguantar inconvenientes y esto no lo mencionan cuando estás mirando los servicios del hotel... No hay cafetería, está en obras también. Hay muchos carteles del tipo 'perdonen las molestias, estamos mejorando...' pero lo tenían que avisar en su web, antes de reservar

Old cute hotel that is quaint. Staff was helpful and even provided us with eclipse glasses to watch the solar eclipse. Hotel is old so windows don’t insulate sound well. Floors are rickety and it’s easy to hear people in the hallway. Otherwise, beds were good and decent. Price was high likely due to solar eclipse frenzy.

Creo que para ser un 3 estrellas le falta mantenimiento. - no dispone de nevera en la habitación, por ejemplo para guardar algunos medicamentos que deben ser guardados en frío o una simple botella de agua. - poco accesible, tiene bañera en vez de ducha y un escalón para acceder al baño dentro de la habitación. La cortina de ducha no es nada higiénica. - El desayuno correcto, aunque incluiría más fruta y leche vegetales, opciones para celíacos o intolerantes a los lácteos.
