We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a weekend trip to Hamburg and chose to stay at this lovely hotel — and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The staff really went the extra mile to make our stay feel special and romantic. They even left us a lovely card signed by the staff, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. You rarely experience that kind of genuine effort these days, and it was a wonderful surprise that meant a lot to us. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for making our anniversary weekend even more memorable. The hotel also has a fantastic location, beautiful harbour views if you book a harbour view room, and very friendly and welcoming staff. Parking is easy and convenient, although a little expensive. And the rooftop bar is definitely worth a visit — a great place to enjoy a drink and take in the views. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would happily come back. A huge recommendation from us! ❤️

A lovely stay at Empire Riverside Hotel. Second time we stay here. The location is fantastic – right by St. Pauli and very closeto Reeperbahn, yet still calm enough to relax and enjoy the view. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is modern and welcoming. The breakfast is amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. A very special thank you for being so kind to our dog. It meant a lot that our four-legged companion was made to feel welcome as well.

Convenient location by the river and Reeperbahn. The room was spacious and really clean but there wasn’t a kettle or coffee machine provided. When we asked for one they told us there were none available to offer. They did offer to make us tea and coffee on request but that was inconvenient because you have to request via their chatbot or physically at reception. We utilised street parking and there’s a charging station right outside the hotel. Would be nice if there was access to the bar level for views outside of their opening hours. Nevertheless it was a nice stay for one night.

Very nice location and nice big rooms. Nice breakfast (a bit too expensive). Very comfortable beds. Beautiful skybar on top. Only problem I had were the very noisy conditioning in the room and the gym with no towels.

This hotel was a lovely option near the river. There are loads of dining and drinking options nearby. The room was lovely and the view, amazing! We didn't opt for breakfast but the sushi made to order was outstanding!!! The roof top bar on level 20 is wonderful for an evening cocktail and hotel guests are given a priority are.

Lovely hotels with wonderful rooms and all the basic amenities. Would recommend staying as long as you like exercise because the key cards demagnetize if you look at them wrong — they must be praised and cajoled and need never be near anything that lets off the slightest electronic signal or you’ll be back downstairs to rekey the card yet again — 3 night stay and I think I had to do it about 8 times this trip. Staff is wonderful and lovely and the sushi is divine

The Empire Riverside Hotel was a great option for a first time visit to Hamburg! Located in St Pauli between the Reeperbahn and the St Pauli Piers, you had walking access to not only St Pauli itself, but also Altona, Neustadt, and the City Centre, all within roughly 20-30 minutes. Having easy access to the Piers, made it easy to see the area by water, on either a local city cruise or a river cruise of the Elbe. St Pauli is also full of shops and restaurants, which means you have easy access to food. And, the hotel itself was great, offering amazing views of the surrounding area. The staff were great and able to accommodate any issues that came up. Highly recommend staying at the Empire if you’re visiting Hamburg or St Pauli.

The property is located near the port however directly behind the hotel is the St Pauli area which is what we would consider the red light area. A lot of strip shows and appeared to be girls working on the side street. Probably not a family area. In saying that it was close to the Beatles walking tours and close walking distance down to pier and back into the city centre. The hotel was good expensive for what we got and the air conditioning not working so room was 26 degrees and it was only 28 degrees outside so was not comfortable coming in from the heat. We did eventually get moved to another room which the air conditioning was set to 23 degrees so better. The cocktail bar on 20th floor had a nice view over the port at night.
