8/10 Very good

Peaks of Otter Lodge was very busy. But that was to be expected given it was peak leaf season. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The view of the lake was amazing. We dined in the bar. As season closing was coming up shortly, it seemed they were a little short staffed for the number of clients even in midweek. I think the weekends will be packed. The food was absolutely amazing though, so well worth any wait. It was also convenient, being right on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, this nugget offers a tranquil view of peaks and lake. Pleasant easy walk path around the lake also takes you the lodge and dining.

Room was ok. Breakfast was not. Only breakfast option was buffet. $20 for buffet with coffee. I tried the pancakes, biscuits and sausage gravey, potatos and eggs - all cold.
Rod, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Did not have breakfast at the property The room was clean. Front office staff was very slow and inexperienced
Lumi, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The dining and food service were excellent. All meals and the wait staff were wonderful and made us feel at home. -Our room was not cleaned of pet hair on the floors before or during our stay. This concerned us since we mentioned is to the front desk after we checked in and nothing was done about the issue. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay.

Perfect location

We really enjoyed our stay at the Peaks of Otter Lodge. The lodge may feel a little dated, but it is very clean and well looked after. Our room was comfortable, with a good bed and beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Dinner and breakfast at the lodge restaurant were both very tasty, with fresh food and generous portions. The staff were attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. It’s a unique and peaceful place to stay — especially if you want to enjoy the scenery of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

10/10 Exceptional

The Lodge offers simple rooms with comfortable beds and an awesome view of Abbott Lake and nearby mountains. Staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant was quite good and super convenient. Don’t miss the walk around the lake, which is paved and accessible. It’s a great pre- or post-dinner stroll and we enjoyed it. Excellent stop while taking in the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway! Highly recommend!
