Family friendly away from the bustle of Sete.

Family friendly hotel 5 mins walk from the beach. Room was a little small for 4 but manageable. A little out of Sete centre but plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. We stayed local as Sete centre is very busy. We ate at Restaurant Chez Mino opposite on the advice of the hotel staff and were blown away by the quality of the food. The roof top is a lovely place for aperitivo as the sun sets and then digestivo after dinner.

Sète is a little complicated as far as hotels. I was only in town to see the Brassens museum and gravesite, and also went to the Paul Valéry museum, which are quite far from the old town center, which is known for heavy traffic and scarce parking. It’s probably a two-hour walk round trip plus hills to see both museums. The location of the Imperial Hotel is convenient to both museums as long as you have a car. Parking in the public lot across the street is free from 7pm-9am and on Sunday. It’s less well located if you want a bunch of restaurants and bars around, although there is a highly-rated restaurant and highly-rated bistro within a block or two, plus a nice pizzeria next door and a so-so looking bar next to that and a mini Carrefour across the street. Besides that, there’s not much within walking distance unless you want to gamble at the casino. The staff at the hotel are very pleasant and welcoming, the building and rooms are clean and in good shape, and the off-season price was very good. It worked out well for me.

nice, small hotel super close to the beach. the staff is very friendly but they are not super helpful when it comes to ordering a taxi.. but overall it‘s very nice and i can recommend it. just be aware that it‘s directly at a road where even during the night, there‘s quite a lot of loud traffic.

Actually a nice room and very kind employee’s But the room was so dirty especially the toilet, the drain on the bathtub could not hold the water. Sad if the cleaning was okay it would be a 5/5 recommendation from here

My first room had a horrible smell. I was told they have it when it is windy. Too bad there is always wind in Sete. I had to argue to change it to another room. I was given a lower category room so the no offer to compensation. In the new room the sink did not drain. There was no hot water in the morning for the shower. No excuse offered. Seemed business as usual. Never again.

Un petit séjour en la ville de Sètes, rapide. Une très belle ville authentique qui prend son essor. Je m'y suis rendu début septembre pour fuir la masse des touristes de l'été qui doit vite "remplir" la ville. Il faut monter au belvédère du mont Saint-Claire pour se rendre compte que la ville n'est pas simplement un ville mais aussi un port actif très étendu. L'étang de Thau vous tend les bras avec ses fameuses huitres au goût unique. Vous irez voir aussi le cimetière marin qui offre une vue fabuleuse sur la mer aux reflets d'argent. Le musée Paul Valéry est un halte obligatoire ! Laissez vous emporter par la suite par les spécialités du coin : la tièle et bien entendu les fricassés de petits poissons croustillants ! Un régal !
