A standout feature of my stay was the exceptional service from Leonardo, the concierge. He went above and beyond at every moment, offering recommendations and assistance that truly made a difference. His dedication and attention to detail elevated our experience and set this hotel apart. The hotel itself is a true gem, set in a location that can only be described as magical. Lake Fuschl, surrounded by majestic mountains and breathtaking natural scenery, creates a fairytale-like setting. The **hotel design**, blending the historical elegance of the castle with contemporary luxury, strikes the perfect balance between classic and modern. The architectural details, impeccable décor, and thoughtful touches in every corner of the space create an atmosphere that is both cozy and sophisticated. The **gastronomic experience** was another highlight of my stay. The restaurants offer menus that celebrate local cuisine with modern twists, using fresh and high-quality ingredients. Our stay at Schlosshotel Fuschl was pleasant, but it fell far short of the high expectations set by the exorbitant prices. The first and most glaring issue is the lack of language training for the staff. A significant portion of the personnel does not speak German, which is surprising for a luxury hotel in Austria. While it’s not an issue for seasoned travelers who also speak English, many staff members struggle with even basic English – an unacceptable shortcoming for a hotel of this category. The hotel itself is not bad: many design elements are well thought out and visually appealing. However, a closer look reveals issues such as dust under carpets, heavily calcified showerheads, and other signs of cost-cutting that undermine the luxury experience. Compared to similar establishments in Bavaria, such as Elmau or those at Tegernsee, the Schlosshotel lacks warmth and the higher standard of quality one might expect. The atmosphere feels less personal, likely due to its affiliation with an international hotel chain. The majority of guests were from China and the USA, a clientele for whom the price-to-quality ratio might seem less critical. In summary, while our stay had a few bright moments, it was overshadowed by significant flaws. The prices charged are simply not justified by the overall experience.

Really unpleasant experience. We arrived to spend the weekend at the hotel, mainly to enjoy hot days at the lake. First things we learnt was that the restaurant we wanted to go to for dinner was fully booked both nights and on Sunday we should leave at check-out time at 12:00 and can’t use any facilities, as the venue is fully booked for private event. No one thought it would be information worth sharing in advance. When we wanted to have a drink on the day of arrival there were no free tables outside. There were in total around 10 tables, at best and we were offered to share a bench with another couple (?!). The next day was a joke. At 10am there were no free sun beds and no umbrellas. It was hot and everyone wanted to have space at the deck, so obviously 30-40 sun-beds they have are not enough and I don’t see how it could come as a surprise for the hotel where the main attraction is the lake. Also there’re plenty of umbrellas around the property, but they’re too heavy for employees to carry to the deck. The few employees are merely enough to work at the lake and keep on repeating trained apologies for any delays, no sun beds, no chairs. At every step smth was off. Sun cream was empty, water was empty, drinks took 20-30 min, just to get the wrong drink. As an alternative I went to the gym just to find that AC is broken there but you’re very welcome to exercise with open window and 27 degrees Celsius inside the room. It was exactly the same on the day after.
