Ideal location and simple, tasteful and quiet rooms with great showers. Staff was helpful and the rooftop breakfast buffet offered a wide array of local offerings, beautifully displayed. Really a wonderful place to sit and sip on Turkish coffee or tea while watching birds weave across the rooftops in front of the majestic mosque minarets. This hotel offers high quality and good value.

Wow, great boutique hotel in a brilliant location. Would highly recommend. A short walk only to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, & Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar is only a 10 minute walk. Hotel staff were extremely cheerful & friendly, with offers to help every time we entered the lobby. Breakfast was ok to start the day, the views are amazing . We had the penthouse with its own balcony and direct access to the top floor restaurant & breakfast area. Only steps from the front door, the selection of cafes & restaurants seemed endless and provided a wide selection of local and international dishes, most of which were quite good. The local meal prices were ok, however the drinks prices appear to be a bit steep. Find a happy hour if you can. The restaurant touts can be pushy, but are generally good natured and entertaining. Note the street in front is closed to traffic, except motor cycles,from 10am to 6pm daily which is handy, however if arriving by taxi you are dropped 50m down the hill and have to lug your own luggage up the hill.

Excellent place to stay whether as a couple, family or solo. Very near to must visit tourist sites as its at Sultanahmet. Excellent front office staff. Each and every one were polite and helpful. Even helped us with our luggages when our shuttle driver could not reach the hotel front due to traffic and stopped about 40m short. The Staff definitely are a huge asset to the Hotel. Very clean and well kept lobby and rooms. Spacious too considering it was in the old city. If i was forced to leave a negative it would be breakfast but not to say it was bad but rather it was lacking in variety. Overall Tan Hotel is on our top list of places to stay if we were to visit Istanbul again.

A fantastic trip to Istanbul with great service

Room was a little tired but spotlessly clean. Our room was cleaned and reset every day. Breakfast was good and they were happy for us to sit up in the breakfast room of an evening to watch the sun go down. It was a lovely view. Close to all the things you want to see in the faith district. Nice restaurants close by. Only issue was taxis and buses couldn’t stop outside so it was a short walk from the main road.
