A Very Peaceful Stay

It's a beautiful property, right next to Meuse river. The rooms are lovely too. There's no A/C or tea making facilities or a fridge in the rooms, but that's the norm in the Ardennes. There were a couple minor inconveniences, a loose door handle and an unexpected breakdown in the water supply, the latter caused me to cut short my stay (although they would have had it fixed in a couple hours). They were very nice and helpful about issuing a refund for the remaining days. I did very much enjoy my stay there - I'd say it's one of the lovelier places around Dinant (about 10 mins drive to Dinant)

Beautiful property and well maintained. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. My only complaints are that the dining options were very slim in the area after like 7pm, and there was a list of requests posted in multiple areas of the room that "for the environment you should turn off the water when brushing your teeth and turn off the water while washing your body in the shower" which was peculiar. I am environmentally conscious and still found that unpleasant to be asked of from a place I paid to stay in.

The room had 3 issues: 1. The water kept turning off which wasn't great whilst mid shower. 2. The water was sometimes brown when it did turn back on 3. The bed was extremely loud and squeaky. Every time I moved, my 8 month old would get disturbed. The breakfast was nice and it was a clean place with beautiful views. But im not sure i would stay here again. The staff could have given us something to make up for the water issue instead of pretending like it wasn't happening (until i mentioned it at checkout).

Peaceful, pretty location in the country, right on the lovely river. Our room was large and comfortable with a terrace overlooking the grounds and river. However, the property was not well maintained, grounds were weedy and not cared for and structures needed painting. outdoor setting etc was worn and tired. Poor service. No amenities. No mini fridge. Not even water or coffee in the rooms. We asked for some additional hangers and were told that the two that were in our room were all that were allowed. No one working in the bar when we went in for a drink in the late afternoon. Service is not a priority at this hotel.

Upon arrival it was hard to find reception, there are 3 chateau buildings to confuse matters more and we ended up going in the back door *there are no reception signs. The property and grounds are really lovely to look at. The room was up 4 flights of stairs (36 steps), not including the outside steps. As the parking was away from the hotel it was a bit of a chore with luggage. I was disappointed not to find a kettle in the room and none available, it isn't a "thing" there and having to take 2 cafetiere of hot water up those stairs from the bar at night wasn't fun. One of the bedside lights wasn't working, I mentioned this on the first and second day but it wasn't resolved before we left after 3 nights. Breakfast wasn't brilliant, no herbal tea, just coffee and black (flavoured) tea available, I asked 1st morning and didn't get any, 2nd morning I was brought a cafetiere of loose tea! and third morning I actually got a camomile tea bag hooray! I don't want to sound mean but breakfast cost €16 and all I had was a cheese roll and a cup of tea (eventually). The cereal wasn't nice, there were no nuts and seeds and limited fruit available. Probably the most limited breakfast we've experienced for a good while, and we do travel extensively. I felt the hotel was all fur coat and no knickers. Shame really because it looked so lovely.

Enchanting property but rooms were average. Older but cozy. No elevator, no in room refrigerator or bottled water, no TV, no AC, no bug screens which were a serious issue given the heat wave and no AC. That said the price was very reasonable and the property is dreamlike so I'm glad to have been a guest.
