Hotel was good although getting tired. Room was large and adequate and house keeping excellent. Went for a drink in the bar but the ambience was far from welcoming especially with the very strong cleaning smell. No evening restaurant is far from good. This place is good. An odd thing happened. Our room had no heat. They came a few times and repaired it (in the meantime gave us a portable heater). They did a good job in acting as fast as they could. Breakfast on Sunday opens at 8 AM -- but we needed to get to the Dublin airport early. They indicated we could have non-cooked items. This was sort of helpful -- cereal and milk and a muffin and an orange juice. Do I say thank you that they allowed us in or complain that they should have adapted? NOTE - there are some young staff. I would like to say they are friendly and doing their best. I did notice that seasoned staff were mentoring them. Good idea. Room was clean. The building has some aging happening but the remodelling is pretty darn good. This place served us well. There was a super storm (Beolo) happening while we were there and they kept us informed regarding safety. The location is down long lanes and the place is set alone. If it wasn't for the super storm - it would have been a quiet and serene setting. Good parking is available.

The room was not large, but adequate, and the bathroom was modern with a nice, heated towel bar to dry your swim trunks if you choose to use the pool or hot tub next door. Breakfast was very good though there is no lunch or dinner served. The one walkable restaurant, The Black Bull, was a good choice. I would stay here again.

We didn't find the pool and noted that bedroom didn't appear to have air-conditioning. The property itself is in a lovely area and common rooms are very well furnished but the overall impression is of a business that has become a bit rundown. Staff were all friendly and helpful, including advising on local restaurants and we enjoyed a drink in the bar.
