This is a halls of residence so adjust expectations accordingly. There are some maintenance issues eg a terrible shower .However, it’s extremely well organised, clean with friendly staff. I had a 5* view from my window.

Highly recommended A bonus for us was having a place to do laundry. Our trip was 29 days, and it is not possible for the average traveller to bring sufficient clothing for such a long trip. Hot Scottish breakfast was included with our room, and was well prepared, setting us up for our day. We were fortunate to have access to this residence by travelling in the summer. I will keep this in mind for other cities in future.

The staff were really helpful. The breakfast spread was great. The dorm beds were really uncomfortable and I should have anticipated this! Also should have realized that there would be no shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer. Hand soap pump and a small bar of soap were provided. The buildings and grounds were good.

The rooms with two beds were spacious and clean and with secure access to the room and the building. The fact that one can easily walk to Arthur’s seat, Holyrood Palace, or the Royal Mile (about 1/2 hr) and is close to cafes/restaurants are a big plus along with having a free on-site breakfast included, a market shop in the conference center, and delicious food at the Abacus restaurant on site. The downsides are that the mattresses are not comfortable-only six inches thick and hard. Also, there are no fans or AC in the rooms so keep this in mind for hot summer months.

The room was clean (aside from some strange marks on the carpet) and had everything you’d need for one night. The breakfast was amazing, especially considering it’s included in the price! The bathrooms were very small and not the cleanest and there were no fans or AC which wasn’t ideal given the heatwave. On the whole I’d recommend but not for any longer than 1/2 nights.

This is student accommodation so it is what you expect. Room is basic but clean enough. No treats attached but just comfortable basic accommodation. I would have liked a mug to use. There is a cup by sink. But there's a kettle in the pantry but no mugs. Even if you could borrow one or sign for it or something like the hairdryers. Breakfast included is fine. Plenty available and fresh.
