Super nice hotel that will likely be back to its former glory once renovations are completed (currently underway).

The staff was very friendly. Rooms are beautiful and newly remodeled. They are still in the process of remodeling but it didn’t affect our stay.

A delightful surprise

I like everything about this hotel. It has been maintained well, the room is very spacious, comfortable bed, quiet, great price. I was only going to stay for the night and liked it so much I booked it for 3 more.

Historical gem

Amazing very large rooms with jetted tubs. The building is historical but well taken care of. The staff were great and very helpful. Hope to stay here again on my next visit to Atascadero.

Beautiful renovation (still under way in some areas of the hotel). Very friendly staff. Very pretty and quaint downtown area of Atascadero. Delicious mushroom burgers at Sylvester’s a few doors down.

Pardoning their dust is easy!

The hotel is gorgeous. Too bad the timing made it so that half my floor and other parts were closed for construction. That wasn't the best sight to see but most of the other beautiful sights mostly made up for it!

The hotel at the time of our stay was going under renovations. It had been awhile since we last stayed here. Central location to the coast, Hearst castle, and wine country. We enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine that came with the room during our stay.

Hotel is currently under construction and I was not notified. Everything about the stay ruined the night before my wedding. I can never get that experience back. Those awful memories are part of my wedding story. Including my guests to my wedding who stayed there. The carlton hotel should close down until the construction is done. Water leak, air conditioning not working, and a high pitched fire alarm going off all night every half hour. I got a refund for my stay, however, I'll always wonder what it would have been like if me and my family was well rested for my wedding day. The night was supposed to be a bonding night with me and my children before the special day, instead it was chaos.

Unfortunately there is not a restaurant on the premises and although the hotel was beautiful and the room was very spacious my night sleep was terrible the mattress was old and sucken in and I kept falling in the middle of the bed could not get a good night sleep. They need to change the mattress for rhe money we spent staying there

The property was decorated very nice and it appears the staff takes care in keeping the property clean and tidy. The proximity to multiple restaurants wine tasting venues was very convenient. We will stay there again

The property was different, a Victorian style look which we liked. Beautiful and very quiet.

I love the historic charm of this hotel. Updates are done tastefully. Rooms are large and comfortable. Some of the furniture could use replacing, but there is a lot of work being done. Everyone we talked to on staff was professional, polite and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
