It was affordable and good for the sleep at the hotel. No one was at the office in the morning at the check out time, so I needed to call. However they said to leave the key in the room. That should be informed in advance!!

For a motel and for the location, great value

Out of all the "Motels" I've stayed at, this was the cleanest. No internet however. You can connect to the wifi but none of our phones or tablets got internet. If you're looking to crash in Newport at half the price, I would recommend Harbor Base Inn.

The first person to check us in was very nice. We were surprised at how dirty our room was- the floors were swept but filthy (turned my son's socks black on the bottom). We did not have enough towels and they would not bring any to us (or even meet me at the office) until a time after we had showered the next morning- so my son had to use a shirt to dry off. The beds were ancient- with one tiny old pillow per person, and springs that you could feel at every turn. We were in town for the jazz fest and dreaded coming back each night. I do not recommend to anyone!

They did not service the room for the 4 days we were there. No clean towels. No emptying trash. There was no weather stripping on the door and bugs came in. The WiFi NEVER worked the entire time we were there. Went to office 5 different tines and nobody was on staff. Note said to call front desk from room phone.. no room phone! Instructions said to maintain safety deadbolt your door....no deadbolt on the door! Horrible hotel. Stay somewhere else

A low end Motel

The sink plug did not work. It stayed closed and the latch was broken so I had to pick it out with my fingernails. Not very sanitary. The bottom of the inner shower curtain also had pink mildew on it. There wasn't a hot water brewer for coffee or tea in the room which is standard in every other inn I've stayed in. I'm glad I brought slippers and lysol spray to walk around and touch handles and light switches.

First of all, dont listen to the reviews, people are just mean and evil leaving a bunch of lies for reviews. I stayed in this place for three nights, we felt safe. The room was super clean, bed sheets clean, towels cleans, floors clean, bathtub clean, good water pressure in the shower, it has cold and hot water, tv was a flat screen tv, with cable and had different channels, as well as movie channels, lighting in the room was perfect, the room came with a fridge and microwave which were handy for the stay. The door has no open spots where people can see you from outside like other reviews stated, and the windows have curtains that covered the entire window, so dont worry about your privacy. Those people that left those other reviews are so ill intentioned. Also, plenty of parking. The hotel is very accessible and i never had a problem getting back on the road like other people said. Honestly i dont know what they wanted probably a red carpet to the main road? I mean the hotel is pretty good for the price, clean, nice, and safe now if you want a luxurious stay then stay in 5 stars hotel and pay more . No one forces you to stay in this hotel which is really good for the price, people just ask for extreme stuff that you can get in more expensive hotels which obviously you wont get by paying less. Duh. Oh i forgot to mention, the pictures of the hotel is this site is not updated, the rooms looks totally different, very modern and updated, with new tv, etc

The check in process was fast and easy. Some constructive criticism follows. When I was handed my key cards, a layout of the hotel rooms with my room number circled could have been included. I found out that the room numbers aren't in numerical order, and the numbers themselves need to be much larger. Inside the room, a card containing the local hotel telephone number and the wifi name and password on the nightstand would be a plus. The hotel is hard to find because the sign is far from the street, so using navigation is strongly suggested. I went without cable TV for the first day because of a quirky cable box, and had no wifi until one of the room attendants helped me out. Other than those concerns, everything else about the room was great.
