Very good stay. Clean and tidy. Continental breakfast that had some basic hot dishes was excellent for the room option to include it. Close to everything with tram at the front door.

Excellent room except that with a double plus a single bed it was a bit cramped in the room. But the bathroom was excellent!

6/10 Good

The staff was very helpful, and the room was comfortable, but the power went out for a significant amount of time, and no one informed the guests about what was happening. This was very annoying. Also my room had an accessible, bathroom and the shower leaked all over the floor. The location was excellent, and I might consider staying again with the hope that the power issue was a one time thing.

What a fabulous hotel, perfectly situated 10 minutes walk from Nice Ville railway station, even quicker by tram (2 stops away). A short walk through a fabulous shopping area which includes great bars and restaurants to the most stunning beach area. The hotel itself is extremely clean. Our room was so spacious, with a very comfortable bed, work desk, safe, air conditioning, seating area. Yet again, the hotel did not have any tea/coffee making facilities. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Breakfast was quite expensive and didn’t eat in the hotel. I would have no hesitation in staying at this fabulous hotel in the future.

My husband and I appreciated the comfortable, wide bed. Our 11-year-old loved the breakfast buffet. We all relished the 10-minute walk to the beach.

A clean, pleasant hotel; the only issue is that they try to clean the room very early. Since it is a vacation spot, this should be done in the afternoon so guests can sleep in, and the cleaning staff talks a lot and very loudly.

On this visit I was placed in a room with French doors that opened onto a balcony with cocktail table and a scenic view. Just as before the room, staff, a/c, and WiFi were all ideal. Hotel Univers is a hidden gem just outside of Old Town.

The hotel was small, but nice. It had a perfect location in central Nice, with basically everything you need in walking distance. The breakfast area is small, but I guess this is adapted to the limited amount of rooms/guests. It was never crowded during our stay. The breakfast variety was a little underwhelming for a 4 star hotel. Our biggest issue was the air conditioning in the hotel room. We were there during a heat wave, where the outside temperature was usually around 35 degrees Celsius. The air conditioning could not get the temperature under 26 degrees Celsius. The staff were helpful and gave us a fan for additional cooling, and even sent someone to look at the air conditioning when we talked to them about it. It didn't help unfortunately, but props to the staff for actually trying.

8/10 Very good

The hotel’s location is absolutely exceptional — perfect for exploring the city, beaches, restaurants, and everything nearby. The cleanliness was also outstanding, and housekeeping did a great job throughout my stay. However, I was genuinely surprised that this is rated as a four-star hotel when the rooms offer almost no amenities. There was no complimentary water, no coffee or tea setup, and not even basic toiletries like body lotion. It honestly felt more like a very clean bed-and-breakfast than a proper four-star experience. If you value location and cleanliness above all else, this hotel does deliver. But in terms of comfort and in-room amenities, it falls short of what you would normally expect from a four-star property.
