. Terrible experience.
The room was dirty, cramped, and extremely uncomfortable. It was located right next to the staff laundry area, making it noisy and completely unsuitable for guests. It felt like one of those cheap solutions used to maximise occupancy and profit rather than provide a quality guest experience.
A professional General Manager should never allocate a room like this. The room was so small, with an uncomfortable bathroom, that it would be better suited as a storage room than a guest room.
There is simply no excuse for such a poor experience. It should not matter whether a guest is staying for one night or a week, whether they are well dressed or arrive after a long journey. Every customer deserves to feel valued, respected, and proud of choosing your hotel.
What made this even more disappointing was the overall lack of hospitality standards. From reception to housekeeping and food & beverage, the level of service was well below average.
I have worked in hospitality for over 22 years, currently oversee 20 venues in Australia, and have been both a business owner and operator. I rarely write negative reviews because I understand the challenges of this industry. However, I genuinely do not want another traveller—whether travelling alone or with family—to go through such an embarrassing and disappointing experience.
