Hotel itself was pretty with nice bar/lounge areas and we had a spacious family room with a comfy bed and cot available. We ran into issues with our room not being ready on arrival. Check in already feeling late at 4pm and us arriving at 5.30 for it to not be ready wasn’t great with little ones. We had issues with our dinner that night - cold, wrong order but the manager overseeing was great and resolved that for us. The following day after being out all day our room wasn’t cleaned and we were told housekeeping had already left for the day so wouldn’t be. Unfortunately we felt the basics you’d expect in place just weren’t and it wasn’t busy. The staff themselves were all individually lovely but the hotel running wasn’t smooth and for the price paid not great.

Check in was good, greeted by Jack on reception. Stayed in room 602 upstairs. Room was spacious overlooking the car park at the back. Our room was extremely hot even with the windows open. Reported to reception offered a fan but we had our own with us. Ate in the restaurant had a chicken starter and garlic mushrooms. The mushrooms were absolutely delicious however the chicken wasn't even aired. Staff member took it off our bill and apologised. We had the Thatchers burger which was very filling and delicious. Had the worst nights sleep ever. The room was extremely hot and we were kept awake by the fire door being slammed with people entering the corridor. Breakfast was unpleasant being a cooked buffet . It was cold . On checking out we reported the hot room and was told by a maintenance man that our room was actually next to the boiler room. We were also told that they will be fitting air conditioning to the rooms in the very near future. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay however on contacting the property we have been offered a complimentary staff once they have the air conditioning fitted. So we will see what our stay will be like.
