City Break at Helsinki Hilton Strand Hotel

Very good hotel well placed (currently refurbishing the local tramlines, so likely to improve soon). Really friendly and helpful staff in all depts, excellent breakfast, spacious bedrooms. Very minor points, room curtains hard to draw, sink needed new plug, no complimentary water bottles in room but good quality tap water available. Stayed for 5 nights. Not considered an economy hotel, but felt the price for B&B, sea view, with King Size bed and bath as well as shower was good value for money in what is generally an expensive city. Would recommend soap/shampoo holders in bath were lowered to facilt less able clients. Quite close (walking or bus to old city centre and railway station).

Great hotel, fabulous staff - highly recommend

We travelled as family and couldn’t fault the hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and have all amenities. The staff are super friendly, amazing with the kids and went out of their way to help. The breakfast selection was huge, great coffee and lots of fresh local food which was lovely. The location is good, 2 mins from all trams, buses & metro, and about 15 mins walk into the centre.

It’s worth it

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable , the pool (when not closed) was nice , and the front desk service was great. They were attentive to all my needs. Location is right across from a tram stop that can take you to the center of town . Ya. It’s a place worth staying at .

Great service attitude. It is a classic design hotel. The room is very spacious. The overall experience exceeds expectation. It is close to railway station. The only demerit is that breakfast is too salty.

Well located for the centre of Helsinki, walkable if weather permits but it’s a three minute walk to Hakanemi Metro station if not. This metro station is two stops to Helsinki central railway station which is the centre point for most Helsinki landmarks, bars and shopping. The hotel itself - being a Hilton - boasts all the amenities one could reasonably want and the staff are friendly and helpful. Minor drawbacks: the buffet breakfast is served with cold plates and the single room is very small but these are trivial points.

I spent 5 nights at your hotel, for a business trip. The hotel is nice, but a bit worn down. The pool was really a disappointment, small and tucked into a small room. Breakfast was ok, but some variation would have been nice, same fruit sallad, same bread, same smoothies

Room is clean and in nice decor. Suggest the pool to upgrade a bit. Noted executive lounge is under renovation, so we had no chance to comment the upgraded facility yet.

Very good breakfast. But, room comfort was barely satisfactory. The room temperature could not be raised and the AC could not be shut off. Cold air came straight to the pillow. Hotel provided supplemtary heaterbbut it was inefficient and inadequate.

The cleanliness in the room is deficient, it is not cleaned well, the shower has fungus on the walls, more cleaning is needed

The conditioner cannot be off. You cannot change the room temperature: only 21-22 degrees Celcius. Because the totalitarian hotel management believes that 21 is the best temperature for all people for all time. I had to work all day in my room, and had to take on all my clothes: sweater, coat, hat. And it was insufficiently warm anyway. The worst hotel I ever had.
