Checked out after night one - not only was the room much smaller and darker than advertised, but the walls were all covered in cobwebs and clumps of dust.
We checked in around 10pm, so the night porter moved us to a different, slightly larger room, but this had the same issues - walls all covered in dust, including around the bed area. Surfaces covered in dust too. We couldn’t believe it - a lovely (and expensive) weekend was nearly ruined.
Given it was 1am when we’d finished reporting this to the night porter again, we decided to try and get some sleep as far away from the walls as possible - four sleepless hours later we packed up and requested that our stay was cancelled.
When we mentioned this to management in the morning, we were told it was ‘normal’ and it was dust that had collected off suitcases and ‘stuck to the wallpaper’. In disbelief, we asked them to cancel our remaining nights and booked a nearby hotel (the best decision we made all weekend).
The hotel eventually refunded us for the two nights we didn’t stay, but charged us full price for the night we did stay, despite only using the room for four hours or so.
Absolutely disgusting room standards (it was much worse than we could capture in phone pictures) and even worse service.
