it was a good price it was clean however I wish I could've checked in a little earlier as I was in town for family at 11:30 and they would not let me check in earlier than 2:30 and I had to drive around and wait for my room or 130 would have been nicer than 3 o'clock

We stayed here for two nights and it was so comfortable. Parking was easily accessible and free, and the lot was spacious. The room was also very clean when we first arrived. A/C, microwave, and refrigerator works very well!

Hidden jem! This is a no frills establishment but the rooms are clean and well turned out. Coffee is available in the lobby. The manager and staff are friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed it very much and booked a 2nd night. Thank you Monterey surf in!!!

Monterey Surf Inn is your typical roadside motel. We booked this no-frills hotel because we were unable to get anything else in the area for the Big Sur Marathon. We were pleasantly surprised that the property was in the middle of getting a facelift. The exterior was getting an upgrade and new landscaping was being installed, as well as outdoor lighting and seating areas for guests. The manager was most accomodating and answered all inquiries promptly. We were also able to get parking on site. I'm glad to see this property getting a much needed renovation.
