Although could do with updating, this charming hotel had clean and comfortable rooms with a good buffet breakfast. Be prepared for all the steps down to the centre (and up) although there is a bus that stops right outside the hotel. It did however have a great swimming pool with towels provided with a bar that provided drinks and snacks, which was a rest bite from the bustle of a very crowded beach and sea front. And of course the view from the pool and indeed our room was magnificent.

Outdated, rug on stairs within hotel looks worn. The hotel is high up so great workout for stairs. The path from hotel to town is lacking grooming of landscaping. Soap and shampoo low quality. Breakfast loved the honeydew and pineapple but the eggs and sausage were not good. Did not replenish the food.the mushrooms and mozzarella were empty. I would not stay again

View from the room was amazing but this come with a big price Google map was not updates properly which make it very hard to find the main car entrance, google map is directing toward an old abandoned pedestrian gate. The gentleman at the front desk was not enough helpful and bit rude. Access to the room is like solving a puzzle, need to use two elevators, and at least one stair and long corridor to arrive to the room, it took time to find the way each time. Not to mention

Our visit at the Royal Hotel Positano was perfect! Staff was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. We loved our experience. The reason for 4 stars is that it’s an older property and difficult to navigate.

Close to the bus stop från Sorrento, so perfect when you have heavy suitcases. Wonderful view from the balcony and nice tidy room. Got to the restaurang too late one evening and even than they got us something to eat, so really serviceminded personal.

Incredible views!! Definitely a hike to get up to the hotel, so consider taking a taxi that will drop you off at the door. Especially if you’re carrying luggage. Plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance. Room was exactly what we expected. Would stay here again!

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, hotel manager Franco carried two luggages up the stairs for us, beautiful view with a nice music at night time which was the icing on the cake. Only advice: don’t take the stairs to come back up from the city- take the bus from station right out front.

Great experience. Top class. Room very nice. Pool. Car park. Everything what we need for stay. Hotel is located on the hill so you have to walk 400stairs on your return. This is hardcore chalange. Nice experience. Recommended
