Excellent hotel in the centre of Glasgow, convenient to rail stations, theatre, galleries etc. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The building has been beautifully restored and my room was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. There is a very comfortable lounge bar and excellent restaurant. Breakfast was delicious.

the hotel is stunning. So beautiful, the attention to detail and staff is great! The only reason I give it 4 stars not 5 is the breakfast. It was quite pricy and it was a completely cold breakfast with limited options, we had to go somewhere else to get breakfast as there were no cooked options. Apart from this the hotel is a 10, but unfortunately that was a big one for us.

Gorgeous hotel. Lovely old world elevator. Amazing peaceful lounge beautifully furnished, excellent restaurant attached. Downside: My room was 30°c/86° upon entering because the radiator was cranked up. Had to open the windows and get the AC going FAST. TV didn’t work at all. Coffee supplies were ok for one person but would not have been enough for two.

The best part of this hotel is the restaurant ran by Glasgow-based Celentano’s. They also prepare the breakfast too. The hotel is nicely decorated in a prime Glasgow building. My room was largely, maybe even 20sqm and the inclusion of mini Bare Bones chocolate was a lovely touch. One of the window fittings in my room was broken which meant I could close it and being on the first floor above restaurant fans made for a slightly noisy night. It bothered me a little the staff knew about this already but had not fixed it. Still, it is good hotel and worth a visit.

Quirky hotel, reasonably restored. There were many things to like but it was too odd to have to find your room with multiple choice unmarked doors. The bed is set up on a medium wide platform that needed climbing to actually getting into or onto the bed. Dangerous in my opinion. Otherwise the room was spartan but nice. Breakfast was subcontracted to the independent restaurant. It provided minimal choices. Sort of minimal continental. Other than filter coffee, all others were for extra payment. Would not recommend. The restaurant should realise that their poor fare reflects on their otherwise excellent dinner offering.

We had a lovely 5 night stay in this stylish independent hotel. Highlights were the overall design, the restaurant and the staff. The hotel is in a great location for activities in central Glasgow, and only a 25 minute walk to Kelvingrove Park and art gallery. The room type was Loft and was chosen because we wanted space and somewhere to sit and relax in the room. There were two comfy armchairs and a desk area with one chair. There was plenty open storage for clothes, which we didn’t mind, although a couple of drawers to allow underwear to be stowed away would have been helpful. The in room TV system was upgraded while we were staying, so it’s hard to comment on that, but it’s not what we were in Glasgow for. If it’s important to you maybe check other reviews to see how that has panned out. The room we chose has coffee making pod machine and an immense, comfortable bed. Something I’d not noticed about this was that it’s raised on a platform. It’s a clever design, as the reverse of the headboard is the desk. If you think you’d be phased by the step down from this if making a nocturnal trip to the bathroom, then maybe one of the other room styles would be a better choice. As mentioned, the staff, who can be reached via WhatsApp, were super-responsive. They were very fast to resolve a couple of initial queries regarding the TV and too few clothes hangers. When I commented that the room would be even better with a little fridge for fresh milk, one appeared! So well looked after!

Possibly the dreariest hotel in existence. We were given an accessible room without warning or explanation, which felt like a cross between an aircraft hangar and a prison cell. Someone appeared to have omitted to provide any useful furniture. No wardrobe, just a series of wall-hangers. One tiny table with one chair. The bathroom resembled something you'd expect to see in a hospital - do people with special needs not deserve any style or design? The room was decorated in drab colours, and the view out of the window really finished off the prison-cell feeling, with wire grates and only brick walls to be seen. The bed was quite comfortable but had strange dips in it as if someone had driven a tractor up and down the mattress. The rest of the hotel continued in the same theme. The foyer had 1940s toilet-block vibes, broken only by some random sofas which were so 'stylish' I can guarantee nobody could ever sit on them and get up again. It also smelled as if a large farm animal may have died recently in the close vicinity. We didn't interact with the staff except on arrival and departure; our arrival was greeted with apparent surprise and a lot of fumbling around, and departure only generated a small grunt as the key was handed over. We discovered in the morning that we had only been given one towel and, to their credit, the staff were very quick to respond. The final highlight was the card left in the room from the hotel owners, blowing their own trumpet. Pretentious clap-trap.

First the good: - staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Sarah in particular tried everything (including turning off use boxes!) to solve some issues - hotel decor is really lovely. The lounge area is really quiet and relaxing. One of the nicest I’ve seen to be honest Now the bad: - the aircon in the room was simply rubbish. We are in Scotland, hardly the Caribbean for temps and yet we couldn’t sleep with the duvet at all as it was so hot even with the aircon on 17c and max! - the carpets on the room are unpleasant to walk on. They are made of coir and being brand new are sharp and prickly on bare feet. No rugs or slippers provided either. Not nice. - no fridge in the room is disappointing. - the family rooms have just a single seat that’s not part of the sofa bed. Given most family rooms are going to be using the sofa as bed it can’t be used for seating! There was plenty of space in our room for more chairs etc. Another miss. - the bedside lights can’t be turned on individually so I ended up trying to read a book with a phone torch so as not to disturb my partner - the door lock only unlocks while you have the keycard against it so you need to open to door at the same time requiring both hands. Annoying if you are carrying anything! The short story is that if a hotel can’t get even the basics right then the fact it looks pretty ceases to matter. Style over substance. I can’t imagine anyone tried staying in the rooms to see if they work at all.

This stunning building is a sight to behold. Charming inside and out. The friendly team, curated and minimalist decor with insanely comfortable beds, lush bathroom products, and exceptional restaurant make this such a gem. I plan to stay here again at my very next chance!

Wonderful staff, great location. Rooms small (especially the bathroom) but well equipped. Odd casting TV system that wasn’t working and issue to the hot water one morning, but staff were super helpful and left us happy. Thankyou. No on site gym. Expensive continental breakfast that was poor value (go just up the road for a wonderful Scottish breakfast that was cheaper and much better)
