This hotel was beautiful and charming, and we loved its appearance when we checked in. However, we quickly realized our room was very cold because one of the windows wouldn't latch. We told the front desk clerk, but possibly because we were Americans, she assumed we just didn't know how to close it. We returned to our room and checked every window, but one simply wouldn't latch, making for a chilly night.
The shower water never got truly hot either. After a lukewarm shower and a cold night's sleep, we were startled awake by church bells ringing 20 times at 7:40 a.m.! Since our room was directly next to the church, a heads-up at check-in would have been appreciated.
To top it off, the coffee maker was broken. Luckily, our package included breakfast, so we enjoyed an adequate breakfast and coffee downstairs.
During our nearly two-week trip, we stayed at several hotels. While I was glad to experience this charming little town, I was even happier that we had booked only one night at this hotel.
