Our group of three adults stayed at the Aquamer Hotel for two nights. Upon arrival, the gentleman at the reception was welcoming and gave us a quick briefing about the hotel and our room. While the building's infrastructure is on the older side, our room was good though small, and all amenities—including the air conditioning and bathroom plumbing—worked perfectly. The heated pool looked very inviting, though we didn’t get a chance to use it during our stay. Note for EV drivers: The main inconvenience is the lack of on-site charging in the hotel parking lot. The closest standard charger is a 10-minute walk away. However, about 1 km down the road, there are 50 kW and 350 kW Electric Circuit (Circuit Électrique) fast chargers (just make sure you have your CCS1 or CHAdeMO adapters). Value-wise, it felt slightly expensive for what you get, but overall, we had a very good and comfortable stay.

The property and rooms are dated. Much of the decor and furniture is many different styles, colors and old. There is no uniformity throughout the hotel. You can tell that the expansions were just added on without doing building adjustments. Making for many different stairways and hallways. And the grounds were not well maintained. We did not use the spa services so can't comment. The person who checked us in was pleasant and professional. However my overall view was that since it wasn't high season, the staff was not in any rush to make sure the hotel was ready for customers.

Our purpose of visiting Carleton sur mer is fishing which is my husband's hobby. We've travelled from PEI and New Brunswick l. Carleton is our last. When i booked at hotel.com, it said we can check in at 11am, which was unusual, but anyway, we were thinking to be able to settle earlier. At first, i thought it was closer to the wharf. Outside looks outdated, when i got to the reception, i was told, our room is not ready as it is being cleaned and check in would not be till 4pm. But i filled up form and staff told us, we can enjoy the facilities (pool, spa, gym etc.) while waiting. As our main purpose is fishing, we did not avail the early facility access, When we went back to check in, it was another staff who entertain us. He was so nice to show us around, where pool is, the common kitchen, how we get to our room etc. When we get to our room, i was surprised how nice it is: i booked a king size room with sea view. The room was so clean and overpassed my expectation. The view was stunning. At the side below our room is the BBQ place.There's mini fridge, coffe maker in the room, but no microwave. However, there's one on the hallway just outside our room. In the end, i cannot say a thing about facilities because we did not try any. One night is not enough to give full review. I will probably go back in this place at least 2 nights to enjoy it.

This is a gorgeous little place (and the pool is divine) but the rooms are really outdated. Wifi was poor, and there were few electricity outlets. The bathroom was very small. The staff were very friendly and helpful, yet the whole place felt rundown. There is a large commercial kitchen which guests can use -- I can see this would have been an amazing place to stay in its heyday, when there would have been a working restaurant.

This once famous spa is now a regular inn. Luckily the salt water pools are still in functioning. However there is no more eating facilities except a do it yourself spot in the former kitchens, poorly organized minimum cleanliness. Outdoor wood patios, stairs, etc are in need of important repairs and bugs clinging at night to windows must be dealt with. Room accommodations need refreshing, bathrooms as well as entertainment . The staff is very helpful but it cannot compensate the feeling that the owners are cutting back on the pleasure of the experience.

When we arrived at 4pm for check in we were told room was not ready and to come back in 30 minute, this is not acceptable as you are totally in control to make sure rooms are ready for your guest, we did not arrive early or ask for an early check in time. Your listing indicates you have a restaurant, which was incorrect only a kitchen where it used to be, yeah we could use it if we bought food, but didn’t think we would have too since you included restaurant in your amenities. The outside seating areas were not clean and they were many spiders around these areas, simple TLC could make your outdoor areas much more inviting. On the plus side the room was clean and bed was comfortable, this place has potential, however the owners need to take the initiative to fix it up.

Check in went smoothly, staff are lovely. The room was nice and a good size. We liked that they have beach towels, beach chairs and parking passes available to guests. Staff were nice but management, not so much. There is a sign warning that you will pay for towels that you stain. The towels are small, feeble, brown and blue towels worth next to nothing. Maybe better to not provide them if it winds you up that much. Next - upon checkout, someone on a motorized cart who had been watching us pack the car, raced over at 11:03am, curtly tapped his watch and asked "are you checking out?" After we stated the obvious, "yes", he raced over to another guest who was also packing his car and threatened a late check out fee! Management needs to remember this is hospitality and not the military.

Friendly staff, we did not try the pool and other spa amenities: too much to see and walk and drink in Carleton-sur-Mer! 2 nights in the panoramic suite was perfwct for our 7-lbs Yorkipoo, my boyfriend and I. A perfectly located clean place to stay few days!
