The location was fantastic, right in Temple Bar, yet tucked away enough that street noise wasn’t an issue. Our room was spotless, and the staff were lovely! They cheerfully humored my very American need to fill my water bottle to the brim with ice before our excursions and kindly arranged our car back to the airport.
Just a few things could be improved. Our flight landed at 7 a.m., and we arrived around 9. Although early check-in had been mentioned as a possibility, our room wasn’t ready, which we completely understood. I did ask the woman at check-in to let us know when it became available, but she seemed uninterested and never contacted us. We spent the day wandering Dublin jet-lagged, returning around 3 p.m. hoping it was ready. A quick notification would have been such a kindness.
The hairdryer didn’t work in the outlets by the full-length mirror, so I bought one at Primark. And the pillows desperately need an upgrade! Calling them pillows is generous, they were under three inches thick and about as supportive as a folded napkin on a dinner plate. Our head and neck hurt every morning.
Those small frustrations aside, we had a wonderful stay. The cleanliness, peaceful location, and kindness of the other staff made it a great base for exploring Dublin. We’d happily return!
