Glamp Ikal is the closets you can get to total immersion into the wild. By the sea you will feel the wind ear the noise mesure the storm. No frill no fancy civilised gadgets, just a cabana by the beach. Staff is outstanding. Those guys will go their best with this rustic basic environment with minimalist amenities. Ricardo and Jesus, I will remember you for your kindness and by making the stay perfect (with a bike, this is the way for your freedom).

An unforgettable, one-of-a-kind stay at GlampIKAL – easily one of the best travel experiences ever. From the moment of arrival everything felt spotless and well cared for, from the tents to the common areas, which made the whole place feel both luxurious and close to nature at the same time. The staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely kind, always checking in, offering help, and making sure every little detail was taken care of without ever feeling intrusive. Staying near the beach was a highlight: waking up to the sound of the waves, stepping out onto soft sand, and enjoying a truly beautiful, uncrowded shoreline just a few steps from the tent. The whole property has a very unique atmosphere – it feels like a small seaside community where you can disconnect, relax, and still enjoy all the comforts you need. The food was excellent throughout the stay, with fresh, flavorful dishes that matched the quality of the setting, and the service in the restaurant was warm and efficient. Every interaction with staff reinforced how welcoming the place is; they were always helpful with requests and local tips, which made the experience even smoother. Overall, this was a very special experience that feels different from a typical hotel stay in the best possible way. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a clean, beautiful, and unique beach escape in Tulum – would absolutely return and encourage others to try it for themselves.

I was absolutely overwhelmed with this resort. It was more than I could ever have imagined. The whole property was so clean and environmentally friendly. The vibe was so peaceful and I met so many wonderful people, staff and guests. They offer so many activities and special services (i.e. the temezcal ritual, massage, yoga, etc). The food was excellent! The location was absolutely goregous. I am already planning my trip back to Glamp Ikal next year!

The property is on a beautiful location of Tulum Beach, we really enjoyed the Yoga Class and beautiful beach nice and clean, but the property glamping was horrible the tent was dirty and broken they upgraded us to a better tent but the AC was not working and the bed had bedbugs

Had an amazing time at this unique, very tranquil resort. The food and drinks are double normal prices but we found other options in town. The beach, overall vibe, and daily yoga in the stunning ocean-view shala made it all worth it. The beds were very comfortable and the shared washrooms / showers were good - lots of hot water. I rented a bike from Ikal and rode to Gran Cenote which took about 30 minutes, 20 on a modern path and 10 on road side. Not for beginners. You can walk to ruins from Ikal. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

8/10 Very good

Like most hotels in Tulum, this one embraces a spiritual and nature-centered atmosphere — which is truly beautiful. There’s a great pool, a stunning yoga and meditation center, and the surroundings are incredibly peaceful. The restaurant is on the expensive side, and service was a bit slow at times. Our cabin had A/C issues the first night, and it was uncomfortably hot — we couldn’t sleep. Thankfully, the staff moved us to a different cabin the next day, and everything went smoothly after that. The hotel is located inside a national park, and at first, I was a bit upset because we had to pay an entrance fee I wasn’t aware of. But that was totally on me. Once we explored the area, we realized the fee was actually worth it — we had access to free transportation within the park and got to enjoy beautiful landscapes and plenty of wildlife.

The staff were really great. Jorge (the bellhop) was really friendly and helpful. Daniel was my driver and I highly recommend that you travel with him. I DOMT LIKE THAT THIS HOTEL DOESNT HAVE COMPLIMENTARY AIRPORT TRANSFER ESPECIALLY SINCE you got to pay for literally everything else. The food was ok. It was Chevy (not as authentic as I would like) big down side was the shared bathrooms and shower. Another downside was that the air conditioner didn’t completely cool down the tent. But overall I loved the stay and had a great time. Would definitely do it again.

Mixed feelings

The place looks amazing. Only there are also a lot of things that could be better. To start with the positive things: + Really nice park setting + Free water in the whole park (there are plenty of watertaps) + Near/at de beach + Clean shared bathrooms + No loud music and no noice during the night + Good lightning in de night to go to bathroom Negative things or things that you should be aware of are: -/- highly overpriced drinks and food (glas of wine 16 usd and beer 7 usd for example) -/- some waiters only busy with getting tips instead of giving good an nice service -/- no breakfast included. Its available for aroud 10 usd -/- no shop at the camping or in the area for buying small food and drinks -/- park entrance not included in de price of the accommodation. More than 20 usd a person and only valit for one day. So when you leave the National park to go to Tulum center for example, you have pay again! -/- be aware that the beach front tents dont have beach view!!! Its better to book garden view. Aldo less noice from the ocean. -/- hotel cant help this, but there is alot of dirt on the beaches and in the water -/- the taxi from Tulum center to the hotel is overpriced and cost 20 usd. If you have time its better to take a small bus (collectivo)

GlamIKAL is located within a natural forest preserve and has gorgeous white sand beaches. The unit I stayed in was clean and nice and very close to the beach. Housekeeping was very hit or miss and you could hear the neighbors even lightly talking so I would recommend brining headphones and an eye mask. The pros: The meditation/yoga classes they are offer were great. If you are staying at GlampIKAL you receive one 200 peso class for free. The classes range from 200 to 350 pesos. They also offer a wide range of on campus and off campus healing modalities. The best thing I did on my trip was the Healing Sound Therapy at a Private Cenote in the jungle with Diego. Couldn't recommend it enough! The cons: The restaurant at IKAL is by far the worst restaurant I've been to in my life. I waited an hour and 15 minutes for overnight oats that never came after speaking to 6 people which made me miss my meditation class on winter solstice. I stayed for 7 days and on all but one occasion I had major issues at the restaurant. Every person I talked to at GlampIKAL said the same thing and most of the issues were when there were only a few people even eating at the restaurant. The restaurant is also wildly expensive and the food is average at best. The problem is that other than Matcha Mama (which is good but has limited offerings and were frequently out of items) there isn't any other food available at the hotel which made is very difficult when meals would take 1-1.5 hours when you order

Glamping is fun, however my tent was moldy and smelled bad. As an older, experienced traveler, I prefer to have a bathroom in where I am staying. The restrooms weren’t far away, but a smell of sewage was noticeable. I wound up leaving early, giving up 4 nights of my stay, and after repeated attempts I never received a refund. The staff was very nice and did try to help, but most of the tents need work. If you don’t mind “roughing it” then this place would work for you! It is in the National Park, and you can hear the ocean at night from in your tent which is very peaceful. The property is very nice. The yoga classes were amazing.

Right on the beach - nothing beats that. Catch the sunrise on the beach before the tourists visiting the national park enters, and stay after sunset...For the price, the room was clean and spacious and the staff friendly and helpful. The shared bathrooms and showers are kept quite clean. Issues: wifi did not reach my room at all (but I can go by the restaurant for wifi or on the beach for 4G signal); the A/C did not work well, which was fine at night for my season (november), but don't plan on staying in during the day. You won't stay in. You'll be swimming in the sea.

A very nice experience!

Expensive tents or fine huts just on the beach! I visited Tulum 1980 and everthing has changed. The pristine environment has changed dramatically. But, here at Nawal you feel you are pretty close to nature with the jungle just by the beach and you just beside. The breakfasts at the neighbouring restaurant are in fresh memory as well as the welcoming and very friendly staff of Casa Nawal. A positive experience!
