Two broken window shades, no toilet paper or soap in the room, indifferent front desk staff ... grrrr!
I've stayed at Hotel Lincoln several times over the last few years. I LOVE the view and I enjoy returning to a neighborhood I once lived in.
This last visit was ... not good. I have high praise for the maintenance staff, who were helpful and polite. The front desk staff could use some training. Issues were met with a shrug or "I don't know." On check out staff didn't address me by name or ask if I'd had a good stay. When I asked if there was a post box nearby, front desk said, "I don't know, I never use one. There's an app for that." Could I drop off some stamped outgoing mail at the front desk? "No." (The postbox was literally steps from the door of the hotel.)
I realize my stay seemed a bit cursed and -- stuff happens and that is no one's fault. But professional and polite responses go a long way to repairing a rough stay, especially in a hotel that already offers very few services. Some of the rooms are being renovated, which may add to staff frustration.
