A disappointing experience to give my son's family
I am 65 years old woman who rented the room for one night for my son and his wife and son. They spent all day driving me home from their home (Long Island, NY). I was told I had to leave a $150 deposit (not cash) and I would get back upon departure. I felt myself becoming frustrated when the front desk clerk kept saying, no friends and no parties. I explained to her they were just staying the night to get rest before they had to travel back home. She said again no friends and no parties. I ask her was I not allowed to go to their hotel room because I'm not staying overnight. She said no you're ok because you are paying for the room. Then went to the room to use the restroom and the room smelled moldy and looked dirty. If that was not enough, in the morning my son went for the breakfast and told me the food tasted as if was not cooked. The final straw was I was told my deposit money would not go back on my card for 14 days. Funny, just a week earlier I rented a room in Long Island and had a totally experience from the same hotel franchise. I don't believe I will ever rent there again (not even for a night). I still haven't gotten my money back. Disappointing experience and I didn't even spend the night.
