Cant understand all the positive reviews? Are they bought or did I get the only crappy room at the hotel?

When I made my booking, I received an email saying that the reception was only staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and that I would need to check in digitally. I booked the hotel through Hotels.com, where I don’t think this was made clear.
The rooms on the hotel’s website look fantastic…! But the room I was given looked nothing like that. It had a wornout, stained carpet and very basic furnishings. The air conditioning was broken, which was especially difficult since it was 30°C outside. There were no blackout curtains, no refrigerator, and no minibar.
Based on the photos and the price, I had simply expected much more.
There was also no breakfast served at the hotel. Instead, it was served at a café some distance away. I was promised an amazing breakfast, but that was not the case.
There was a menu where you could choose either a cheese sandwich with yogurt (with no lactose-free or gluten-free option) or porridge. After waiting 40 minutes (!!) for breakfast and watching other guests receive lovely scones and croissants, I was served a plate with a sandwich and what was basically just two slices of cheese.
