Cute hotel. Well maintained and clean. Queen and twin room accommodated 3 adults. Location was good. Breakfast was delicious when ordered to cook. ( only 2 of our 4 days) buffet breakfast was good as well. Able to leave our luggage in lobby room.

The hotel is low-rise and close to the road. Our room faced the road and was over the loading area, making for lots of noise in the early morning (bins being emptied and trucks making deliveries). The room was fitted out as pictured and clean. A strip on the bottom of the door would stop the light coming in from the corridor (we used a towel to block the light). The selection of tv channels was eclectic.

The Mercure is well positioned, only a short walk to the Esplanade and the train station for our trip to Kuranda. The staff were lovely, we had dinner 2 nights, having the specials available on those nights which we enjoyed. We also had breakfast 3 mornings which we also enjoyed. The meals/pool area was a great place to relax. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would stay again when next visiting Cairns.

Clean and contemporary however. Lovely family room with adjoining bedrooms and a kitchen. Great shower. We chose it as we wanted to turn up and eat there prior to an early flight next day snd restaurant was being renovated and we had to walk out of the hotel grounds to get to the pool.
