Last minute get away, found this place for a reasonable (for the area) rate and booked it. No regrets. Pacific Grove is a lovely, walkable community. The room is a bit dated, but very clean, water pressure good, bed was ok, ample parking on site. Just what we needed, as our main focus was to explore the area. Walked to the lighthouse, John Denver memorial, down around Ocean Dr.,and back up to Lighthouse Ave. to grab a bite.(Red House Cafe!!) Monarch Resort has a friendly, welcoming front desk and just what you need for breakfast to head out on your way for the day. Will book again!! ◡̈

Nice place with great access to the coast. Bicycles were welcome. Continental breakfast got us going. The room was neat and clean. Elevators nearby. Hot tub was warm and the pool cool. Tub did not blow air. No drying towels found poolside. Covered parking. A great stay.

Liked the option of a separate bedroom from the dining and kitchen; our suite had two tvs and two fireplaces and complimentary presto logs for fireplaces; easy walk to the beach; free parking was good; rooms were a little dated but still ok and clean; staff were friendly; safe neighborhood; lots of restaurant options about a mile away from resort and two miles from Aquarium and Cannery Row.
