A beautiful building with gorgeous grounds, the hotel is as good in the inside. The restaurant food was well above average, if pricey, and a nice bar menu too. Only blot was the dirt under the tea tray on the desk in the room which looked like it hadn’t been moved for weeks

The first room I checked into was extremely dirty; smears on doors, large cobwebs, old contact lens stuck to mirror. I called reception and they immediately gave me another room. The receptionist was really helpful and friendly. The new room on the main hotel at glance was much nicer, large and spacious but it wasn’t ‘really’ clean. It had a bit of a musty smell and you had to leave windows open as no air conditioning, there was no water in the room either. The receptionist sorted my complaint to the best of his ability but I wouldn’t say it was 4* in terms of cleanliness. I can’t comment on the other amenities as I didn’t eat there or use the gym. The external building is very beautiful.

Beautiful stay for a wedding celebration. This is our second visit and we can't wait to return. The staff were so kind and helpful, even sorting a special ground floor accessible room for me at short notice to make sure I as a heavily pregnant woman didn't have to walk very far! Breakfast is worth it, delicious. Special shout out to all the staff working back to back weddings who still find time to make everyone feel welcome and at ease.

This used to be my school until 1982 and it has been lovingly restored into a beautiful hotel with great amenities in amazing grounds. Ample parking and a safe environment leads to a peaceful and relaxing stay.

The hotel is set in peaceful, well-kept grounds, making it a quiet and relaxing place to stay. The rooms are modern, spacious, and very comfortable. On the whole the property was excellent, as were the staff, and I would more than happily stay there again. The only reason I’ve docked a star is because there was a wedding happening on the night I stayed - and I think it would have been nice for the staff to mention at check in what time it was scheduled to go on until as it was quite loud (to be fair, we were in a room directly above the event. Were I anywhere else in the building it may not have been an issue). And the other nit-picky thing is that there were quite a lot of cobwebs in the room. Both minor things, and as I said I’d more than happily stay at the property again. Grounds and building are beautiful, staff were great, breakfast food was well stocked and good quality, check in and out were both smooth.
