I have always liked Motel 6 -- till now. Not again. First had a surprise of a XXXXX damage fee this hotel collected up front when we got there. Got the room through 'Expedia', which I would rather go through the hotel. There was no idea of these on 'Expedia'. Next the young cashier was not even friendly about the check in.
We got there an hour early, OK we should have been able to check in, and they make sure the room is ready. She would not even discuss it. We camp and travel a lot, that was a first.
When we did check in, the room --stunk--. OK it was a smoking room because I needed something cheap. We were there for my wife's medical treatment. But it should still smell good. We went back down to the desk. And another better manured person was there. Wife told her we wanted to cancel the room and get a refund. She did call the manager, who said he would get us the refund.
We went to another hotel, now at home. We will see how long to get the refund.
