Staff was extremely kind and helpful. It was genuine not fake. Hotel was new and clean. Had elevator and you didn't have to climb steps. Very convenient to the train station, so not to much uphill walking. Locally used tienda which meant better prices on, water, sodas, snacks and beer. Friendly locals. Only one small dissatisfaction. One morning we ate breakfast around 8:30 and the eggs and salchichas were completely cold. I would stay here again and recommend my friends.

After reading reviews of Aguas Calientes in general, I was leery of the accommodations available. This was so inaccurate! The town is much better than what I read, and this hotel was the best one yet! (Better than Cuzco, Lima, and Ollantaytambo) The bed was bigger than my king at home. That alone made me smile when I walked in. I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for three nights and loved it. It actually felt like a vacation.

Truly recommend to stay at Chaullay Salkantay Hostel during your Salkantay trek. The place has exceeded our expectations (especially after other lodges during the trek). The rooms are a great standard and provide real comfort, they are clean with towels and soaps. The hotel was a nice welcoming space. It is convenient to the train station for those who are going to Machu Picchu. The train does run near the hotel, so you will hear it three or more times over night so if you’re a light sleeper you may want to note this. This was the second place we stayed in Aguas Caliente and the town a very active town so you can expect some noise no matter where you stay.

This place was magical! Within walking distance to the train station. It's a super small town and there are no cars. The hotel can arrange for someone to meet you at the train station and assist with carrying luggage. There are a lot of shops and great restaurants so get lost and have fun! Note that some of the outdoor restaurants charge a 'service fee'. One of the restaurants we stumbled upon had horrible service and they slipped us that service fee so just ask. TIPS...the buses to Machu...

This place was great! Recommend to all. The staff go above and beyond to help you and make you feel welcome. Clean, solid breakfast, very kind staff who asked us every time they saw us if we needed anything (and offered toiletries, towels, room cleaning, directions, advice). The polla a la brassa across the street was very good and only 30 soles per meal--don't get ripped off by the tourist restaurants on the main street.
