The Bedrock Hotel is a one-of-a-kind place: quirkily but tastefully decorated with wonderful management. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. Debbie helped me arrange a tour to the Cameron Highlands and transport to the train station. I'd highly recommend the Bedrock, and I'll stay there the next time I visit Ipoh, a little gem of a town that's not yet spoiled by an onslaught of tourists.

Troji and his intern Nacho were great hosts, friendly and accommodating. Nacho took me and another guest on a hike, and we all joined Troji for dinner one night at a nearby restaurant. The hostel was clean and quiet, with plenty of cooking implements and condiments and fridge space. I enjoyed playing the guitar there, binge-reading one of the books, and taking walks through the farms nearby. (That was my one disappointment - the farms all have plastic roofing, like greenhouses, so you can enjoy...

Loved our time at Mutiara Taman Negara. Such a lovely suite/and staff were amazing.... When we were in need of anything for our room( extra lamp, batteries for air con's remote) they were replaced right away. Breakfast buffet was included and wonderful....lots of choices... We signed up for tours right at the resort- cost a wee bit more but we think was worth it... We didn't like the pressure from Han Travel that we experienced at the jetty. Only wished I had made a special request for a bird...
