Richmond Hotel Premier Sendai Ekimae
10/10 Excellent
"Great property location near everything."
APA Hotel TKP Sendai-Ekikita
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean and spacious for a Japanese hotel. Only main complaint is that they only give a comforter on the bed and not a flat sheet, given that it was 32-36 degrees Celsius outside it was warm in the bed and kept kicking it off. Everything else was great. AC was ice cold and shower / bath was nice after a long hot day of exploring the city. The hotel is on the East side of the station but there is a hidden walk way with stairs or elevator at the north end of the second station floor at the end of the SPal shopping center that cuts over the tracks. Next door is a mini Lawson and a couple of restaurants. Easy base for exploring Sendai and surrounding places like Yamadera, Yamagata, and Matsushima all of which are within a 1hr local train ride and are covered by a JR pass"
Matsushima Ichinobo
10/10 Excellent
"Ichinobo is a fantastic hotel with hot spring onsen facilities. We chose a room with a private open-air, full-sized immersion bath and it was well worth the extra price. The ocean and garden view from our private bath was magnificent and the bath area was designed for complete privacy so we could use the lounge reclining seats with complete freedom. We were concerned about the buffet-style dining because we expected a cafeteria-style setup with mediocre food, but it was completely different. There were many stations where various foods were prepared rapidly on request. The quality of the ingredients was very high, with the best fish, like toro, local delicacies, like beef tongue or rock oysters. The variety was wide as were the types (Japanese, French). The alcoholic beverages were included and noteworthy were the high quality and selection of the offerings which ranged from ginjo sake to French and Spanish reserve wines. The bar was open from 9.30 am to 8.30 pm and at night there was live music to enjoy with after-dinner drinks. Matsushima has many sights to see and everything is relatively close. Still, it was very nice to have the free shuttle buses for transport to and from the train station and to the dock area for the boat rides to see the famous pine tree covered islands. My partner and I had a wonderful time and recommend the Ichinobu highly."
Hotel Monte Hermana Sendai
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel can access to Sendai station with pedestrian deck."
Breezbay Seaside Resort Matsushima
8/10 Good
"Hotel that is tailored to Japanese families weekends, bit weird for western traveler but it is clean and friendly. They have nice BBQ on the balcony that I would recommend to try."
Sendai Kokusai Hotel

Mitsui Garden Hotel Sendai
10/10 Excellent
"Thank you for pleasurable 3 night stay. What an amazing hotel, fantastic staff very helpful and polite. Very clean, great location for everything, would definitely stay again."
Sendai Royal Park Hotel
8/10 Good
"The location of the hotel is perfect, nestled between the historical sites for those wanting to learn a little more about Japan's history and the mall for avid shoppers. The weather in Sendai is beautiful in August...I was pleasantly surprised given this is one of the hottest month in Japan. Trees, thank goodness for this city of trees - bringing one closer to nature. Everywhere we walked, nature sounds were intense, so easy to forget this sound when one has spent too much time in the city. The hotel is beautiful and gave off the air of old European style, very easy to get lost in this hotel. The attendants to the front door personnel to the housekeeper were very kind and pleasant to speak. The rooms were very clean and provided necessary amenities such as toothbrush, wash towel, and facial care packet. I think the only thing that would be hopeful for female guests an extra towel for hair care (i.e drying) is helpful. Otherwise, the staff were very helpful and efficient. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious, offering a variety from Eastern (Japanese) cuisine to Western choices. I think the only suggestion for Sendai is possible offer some meat/beef options aside from the beef tongue stew which is delicious but a little more selection would be delightful. Otherwise, Sendai is a perfect hidden gem of Japan that is worth visiting."
