HOTEL MYSTAYS Fuji Onsen Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Amazing view of the coaster! Comfortable rooms and beds, amazing pillows! Tattoo friendly warm onsen! Clean, with kind staff! A walking distance to the trains with a great view of Fuji! (When it’s not overcast)!"
Fujisan Onsen Hotel Kaneyamaen
10/10 Excellent
"My husband and I stayed in a western, mt fuji view with private onsen for two nights traveling in Japan. This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. We didn’t even get to see Mount Fuji because of the weather abundant. This gem of a hotel is so unique and different. Some parts of it were old, but totally maintained. Our room was redone, and the wine lounge was part of our package. We had fun of dressing up in the complementary Yukatas, the PJs they provide were super comfortable, and I used the women’s onsen one day and it was wonderful. Part of the hot spring was outside and had a cold plunge and sauna. The breakfast and dinner were great, especially breakfast with a lot of choices. The hotel also provided loungewear that was totally appropriate to wear around the hotel. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained and feel like this was like an old Ritz Carlton vibe. The hotel is not in town but we didn’t mind taking a short taxi (someone said there’s a bus that take you all around the lake)."
Fuji View Hotel
8/10 Good
"The hotel is older but well maintained. In our case there was not view because of the weather, and there is not really any restaurants or shops within walking distance. There is a shuttle to town, but the last one leaves before dinner. The staff were excellent and the hot bathes fantastic. If the location works for you, and you don’t mind well-maintained older rooms, this is 5 star."
Toyoko Inn Fuji Kawaguchiko Ohashi
10/10 Excellent
"Good condition property, free onsite parking, superb helpful and welcoming staff, very good amenities, very fast internet, average sized room to Japanese standard, The hotel has 2 Breakfast sections, one European and one Japanese, but no toaster or grill for breads, but sumptuous breakfast, enough varieties for Vegans and Vegetarians, but limited enough just to fill up. Value for money hotel. Just that some of the Breakfast Buffet food is only labelled in Japanese, thus need enquiry from staff about content and ingredients."
The Noborisaka Hotel
8/10 Good
"Friendly staff and beautiful view of Mnt Fuji👌"
Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato
10/10 Excellent
"Nice rooms , the private outdoor bath was nice , and it does allow individuals with tattoos to reserve a private onsen."
Resort Inn Fuyo
10/10 Excellent
"Really great place a must visit, local food and activities are great"
HOSHINOYA Fuji
10/10 Excellent
"The property is beautifully located so you can have a clear view of Fuji, weather permitting and we were lucky enough to have a view of Fuji which made our stay all the more special. Thank you so much to the very attentive staff."
Kasuitei Ohya
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed one night at Kasuitei Ooya, and it turned out to be the highlight of our time in Japan. The ryokan gets the traditional experience right without it feeling staged — tatami rooms, yukata, and a real sense of care in everything. Our room had a lake view and a private bath, which our teenagers enjoyed as much as we did. The kaiseki dinner was outstanding: beautifully presented course after course with local ingredients we didn't see anywhere else on the trip, and breakfast the next morning was just as good. The onsen is on the 7th floor, and the same floor has a viewing area where we caught the clearest Mt Fuji view of our stay at sunrise. What tied it all together was the staff. From check-in through to the shuttle back to the station, they were warm, unhurried, and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we asked. If you're deciding whether to build a ryokan night into a Japan trip, this is the place to do it."
