The owner was very helpful and helped us find a restaurant and offered us a garage for parking. The place is very new and clean. There isn’t much for a B&B. A few packaged snacks and water.
This lovely place consists of three units, each uniquely furnished. (I stayed in one named for King Frederick II.) My upstairs room had a balcony overlooking some of the historical town. Part of an old palace, it had a curved brick ceiling. Amenities included a Lavazza coffee machine with cartridges, bath oils, a refrigerator, and linens with a very high thread count. It's perfectly located for exploring the old town on foot. The staff was very helpful when I needed it. Note: If you are arriving...
Martino was,a great host. He reached out ahead by email with a welcome and last minute instructions for our arrival. The property is first class and our "cave room" was beautifully detailed with a great view.
Beautifully maintained hotel. A few of the staff spoke some English and they were more than helpful. The hotel is in a good location as far as being in the center of the old part of town, but parking is very limited. Another downside is wifi. I could never get my phone to connect. But when you are in an ancient, beautiful city do you need wifi? I would highly recommend Hotel San Nicola to travelers.
This place is a jewel in Altamura! Rooms are brand new with everything you might need and spacious. They have an AMAZING SPA. We booked it for an hour and 15 minutes and cannot say enough good things about it. You are by yourself and they have sauna, steam, jacuzzi and more. The showers of hot and cold water are u ique. Strongly recommend this place!
Great location near historic center with a comfortable room and excellent breakfast with various homemade products. Anna was so nice and welcoming. She made you feel like you were visiting a friend. I was interested in cooking and she and her cousin taught me how to make pasta. She also provided great recommendations about local shops like Molino di Benedetto which had an amazing selection of flours for baking.
THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST AUTHENTIC CAVE HOTEL IN MATERA. IF YOU DO NOT STAY HERE YOU WILL HAVE CHEATED YOURSELF OF A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE. I VISITED NUMEROUS CITIES IN ITALY AND MATERA WILL TOUCH YOUR HEART AND TRANSPORT YOU BACK TO BIBLICAL TIMES (NOTE: THE MOVIE ," PASSION OF THE CHRIST " WAS FILMED HERE). OH , AND IF THAT ISN'T ENOUGH , THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZING.
We had an amazing stay at the Cenobio Hotel! It can be a bit tricky to find if it's your first time in Matera, and you can't drive directly to the hotel. Plus, there are some steps to navigate both downhill and uphill. Knowing this from other reviews, we contacted the hotel before our arrival. They arranged a shuttle from the car park, which made things super easy for us. I highly recommend doing this if you're planning to stay here. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, making us feel...
Loved this hotel! We only stayed here one night but would love to come back another time. The hotel and rooms and clean and beautiful. The view from the terrace is beautiful, especially at night. The staff was spectacular and the breakfast in the morning was wonderful!
Everything was very clean! The owners thought of everything. The rooms were very comfortable. Parking on site was great. We were offered breakfast for a small fee and it was very good.
There are even espresso machines in the rooms!
The owners are very lovely. I would definitely stay here again.
Easy to drive into town.
