My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at Carton House. The manor home and grounds are absolutely beautiful and the Carriage House restaurant (one of two restaurants) was wonderful. We want to especially thank our porter, Jake, who assisted us with our luggage and later provided us with a guided tour of the manor home, which was built by the FitzGerald family in the 1720s. Bellinter house allows you to imagine what out might have been like to get away to your country home to escape the pressures of the turbulent 1700s. Beautiful grounds, lovely, lovingly-restored rooms, but with enough electrical outlets! Attention is paid to each guest. We ended our trip to Ireland here, but would have loved additional nights in the birdsong filled countryside.
This is a nice, clean hotel located approximately 25-30 minutes from central Dublin depending upon traffic. There is a bus stop located in front of a major shopping mall across the street. The service was excellent, the buffet breakfast was very good, and the area was very quiet. You can also take the taxi to central dublin but it'll cost you approximately $30 euros. I booked two rooms at this hotel through a company, unfortunately on arrival confirmation had only been sent through for one room. The hotel was fully booked as they had a wedding on.While i was chatting with the company i booked with the receptionist was very helpfull trying to source accomadation in another hotel. Quaint, quiet and beautiful views of the countryside of Ireland! The staff were so kind and considerate of any requests or needs! We really enjoyed our stay as it was a nice spot of reclusion after going off to Dublin to explore which was much busier! Tara View Apartments is a peaceful, beautiful property. The staff are helpful and congenial. The accommodations are shockingly good for such an economic option. Public transit and taxis are hard to come by, so car hire is recommended. That provided, there couldnt be a better place to stay in County Meath unless one absolutely must be able to get to the city by foot or bus.
