We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Candor. They are pet-friendly and the staff was always present and helpful (whether at the front desk or in the dining area). The village and hillside view from the room was beautiful and peaceful. There were some neighborhood dogs that barked regularly, especially at night and early morning, that prevented us from keeping the doors open as much as we would have liked. The rooms are very soundproof, though, and it was completely quiet with the doors/windows...
On our 20 night Camino de Santiago journey there has not been a better hotel than Torre do Rio. Every small detail is amazing from the decor to the comfort to the food to the grounds… we are so glad we did a two night stay here and made it one of our rest days! We stayed while walking the Camino. The hotel is very close to Combarro. Manuel was our host. The hotel was beautiful in a way that was thoughtful with every bit of attention to detail. The pool wasn't open yet as we traveled in May, but it looked lovely. We speak no Spanish and Manuel, no English. That didn't matter. He offered to help us with transportation into Combarro and also the next day to our destination.

This is a lovely rural property that provided us the retreat that we needed. We had the “Moucho” room which had a nice balcony and skylight over the bed. We had great meals in their restaurant and the pool area looked very inviting but the rainy day prevented us from using it. We appreciate how friendly and welcoming they were with us despite our very limited Spanish skills!
