A long time ago, finer hotels would greet you and follow up with you and if one returned numerous times (like we have) they followed up with you and made sure you were taken care of. Edmund is a treasure in our opinion. I have stayed here 5 times in 3-4 months, and if I ever have any type of request, Edmund makes it happen. Other hotel employees may use the scripted "we will do our best and it is based on other factors, etc". Well, if I am flying from San Francisco to Hong Kong, I'm exhausted...
I recently stayed at Hotel Icon in Hong Kong for four nights with my son, and every moment was delightful. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Very nice and elegant hotel in the middle of the shopping district. Direct access to taxis, Uber and the metro station is 5-10 minutes walking. Right across the hotel is the Marina walk.
Hotel staff are very nice. The lady at the fron desk gave us a room with the Marina view since this was our first time in HK.
The only issue we had that the room was very small that we could not put the extra bed that we requested, however we had a king size bed which fitted me and my two daughters.
The room is spacious and the staff give us free upgrades due to they understand the needs of the elderly. Excellent location where the access to public transportation such as MTR or buses or even taxis is only a step away. We are the return customers and really appreciate the hospitality and services they provided. I will definitely book this hotel as our stay whenever we visit our families in Hong Kong in the near future.
It was a very comfortable stay with plenty of shopping within walking distance. Transportation is a bit inconvenient but manageable if you plan ahead. Rooms were very well kept and has amazing views depending on your room choice.
