Just awesome. Loved the rooms with the big windows, loved the hosts, awesome breakfast. Very helpful-for example we arrived early before our room was ready. They let us leave our luggage come in and out. Use the bathroom whatever we need until the room is ready.

The hotel is actually a few cozy rooms above a pub. The rooms are spacious enough. I have also stayed at the Lodge in Newbury and the Dolphin was miles nicer. I was worried about noise facing the street, but it was very quiet. I never heard any noise from the pub. The staff were very nice and accommodating. This felt more like staying at a friend’s house. The staff are only there during limited hours, so if you are coming and going early and late you may find it inconvenient to get towels or...
The room was fine and clean and so was the bathroom which is always most important to me. Only 1 thing I didn't like - no phone in room which could be a big problem in case of emergency.
This is a charming, family-run inn near Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey). The accommodations were comfortable although simple, and the pub is fantastic, with really excellent food. The service by the family that owns th Inn and their employees is very good. The prices are reasonable, and the locals are friendly. The garden is very pretty also. No complaints, would stay again. The tomato soup and goat cheese salad were standouts.
Had a great stay at the Hare and the Hound. Great patio next to the restaurant to gather after a fun day and breakfast was really well put together. Room was cozy and comfy and the staff left a nice little surprise in the room.

Staying at Ye Olde Red Lion was a fun experience. It is probably the most unique place I've stayed with its blending of old, old and new and updated rooms. I would stay here again.
