"We had a fantastic stay. The room was superb. The staff went above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast was a buffet style but every was so fresh. The choice was fantastic. However on the Sunday morning they ran out of ham on the continental breakfast, how can a hotel of this size allow it to happen. I understand about suppliers etc... but there are many shops and retailers locally that could have supplied this. We thought the bar was a little expensive London prices in Stockton on Tees....REALLY..."

"It was pleasant enough. The staff we encountered were really friendly. The decor is a bit dated. Smelt a bit fusty … but it’s an old building so what do you expect. Lovely grounds. I struggled to sleep as the bed was too soft for me (personal preference). Not sure I’d stay again but did the job for the evening."

"We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole place had a relaxing atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the spa facilities and it was a great place to switch off and rest after a day out. Breakfast was good and there was a nice choice of food. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would happily stay again."

"Brilliant value great room and cosy. Good selection of beers and wines. More importantly the dinner was amazing the breakfasts absolutely fantastic. Was a pleasure to eat here. Great location quick into York if you’re driving and plenty of free parking. Able choices of local pubs and restaurants. Nice walks and close to Thirsk and the surrounding areas"
