Not far from the street car and the metro so we could navigate easily to and from Old Port and beaches day and night - and some cute bars and cafes nearby for when we were lazy, or enjoying apero on our balcony which faced a cute courtyard.
We spent 6 nights here as our home base for exploring Marseille and had a lovely time! Would stay again when visiting Marseille for sure -
We enjoyed our stay. Spacious room, aesthetically pleasing, bright space. Prime location & very walkable area. We enjoyed to cafe downstairs for some cheese,wine & to people watch. Would stay here again.
Great place to stay. Close to the old harbour. Very trendy rooms. No TV, but a great vinyl collection in the common area (I spent one evening listening to Astrud Gilberto on their old school system). Oliver, the host, is awesome. The outside is very unassuming (we walked by it twi
ce), but the interior is very modern and the common space and garden (where you can pick fresh oranges right of the trees for breakfast) is terrific.
Overall a good hotel, clean rooms and friendly staff. Beds are comfy. Few minutes from public transport - easy access to the downtown area. The breakfast is a bit overrated in some reviews.
Although in the heart of Marseille, C2 was a relaxing, boutique retreat (just over 20 rooms) with friendly staff and comfortable accommodations in a thoughtfully restored former townhouse then office building. I highly recommend Room 1. Walking distance to the harbor, sites and restaurants. But it was tempting to not even leave the hotel.
Residhome Marseilles looked new and everything was very clean, except that the carpet had a stain by the elevator that they didn't seem to be able to remove. They did clean the corridor carpet while we were there. We had interior view room which was super quiet. The people at the front desk were very helpful and spoke enough English so we could understand each other. The kitchenette was very nice and saved as money during breakfast and lunch. As an interior designer, I really appreciated the attention to detail and overall feel of the Blue room. We loved the bathroom most of all, as well as the beautiful windows that let in so much light. Only negative is that the floor in the shower can get extremely slippery, definitely be careful.
This is a beautiful, classy hotel in a good location near the old port of Marseille. The hotel can be seen from a great distance, and is quite impressive to approach. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive to any need. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, clean and modern. No complaints.
The Alex Hotel & Spa was booked due to it's close proximity to the train station. The staff upon check-in were helpful & friendly and our room was clean and renovated - it was one of our favorite stays in France! Also, the balcony was a plus and was a great way to relax and unwind after a day of travel while still enjoying the city.
