This is a brand new property, recently built. This hotel has a great location, steps from the Costa Rica Convention Center, there are shopping malls, clinics, restaurants, at walkable distance.

This is the best deal in San Jose. The place is modern, the bed was amazing, the restaurant was awesome. Location was central. Highly recommended. Staff was super helpful .
I find no fault whatsoever with this hotel. I liked everything. It had a safe in the room where I could lock up my electronic devices whenever I wanted. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a wide variety of foods. Plenty of hot water. Free coffee in the room and at breakfast. You can buy expensive or less expensive food at the restaurant. We were floored when we first saw the view and the room! It is so special and our first night was quiet and romantic. The grounds are gorgeous. The staff was exceptional! We only had a couple of complaints and when we had the complaints, the staff was eager to help in any way possible. We had an issue with our DVD player-which in our mind wasn't a huge deal because it's so fantastic there you don't really need movies, but we wanted to relax our last night and we couldn't get the DVD player to...
We stayed here on the front and back end of our trip to The Springs and Peacelodge. The hotel is nicely decorated, clean, and close to downtown San Jose. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the free breakfast is great. We also ate dinner here and the food is very good. The only downside is that the rooms are small and it can be quite noisy, as there are many buses driving by all the time. I would suggest a room on the top floor and on the opposite side of the Main Street.
We loved everything about this hotel and we are so happy we chose to stay here. The hotel was very clean; we would come in and our room would smell and look amazing. The food options at the restaurant were excellent (we tried all the local dishes and local juices/milkshakes). We felt that the location was perfect- we liked the fact that the airport shuttle was easily accessible; we felt safe walking around the area; and the best part was having a Walmart so close (walking distance) for snacks...
Staff was amazing at check in. I arrived very early and they did their best to accommodate me. Also, the bar manager was very personable. All around great stay as it is close to museums and parks.
We have always enjoyed staying at this property because it is clean, quiet and has the best breakfast in town. We fly in from Oklahoma and often arrive in San Jose late enough we need to spend the night before going to our home on the South Pacific coast. This is a place you can count on being a good quality hotel.
We had a wonderful Christmas week at Canal Grande Lodge! Raffael and his staff were excellent hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. The small hotel was quiet and beautifully situated. You could walk to restaurants and a few small local stores. We enjoyed Santa Margaritas down the street on 2 nights of our stay. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to SJO, the availability of its business center (to print my boarding pass), and the free breakfast to get me going in the morning. I ended up having dinner there the night prior as well. The costs were fair and the food was pretty good. The staff was VERY friendly and accomodating, and when I come back to visit San Jose, I will definitely be staying here again.
