Outstanding place to stay! Beautiful grounds, great accommodations and excellent staff! We saw so many wonderful birds thanks to their feeding station. We did their night walk tour and it was fascinating! I’d highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed if your looking for beautiful grounds, great service and bird watching.
100% recommend this place. We had the bottom bungalow and were perfect for two of us. The hot tub is awesome with the view. The family that owns this is very nice and accommodating. If I am ever back in the area I would stay again.
The Staff here are AMAZING! We stayed for only one night before returning to SJO airport. We needed assistance with transportation and the staff here bent over backwards to make calls and help us. This property is clean and has a nice breakfast. The ONLY negative I would give it - the noise. If you cannot sleep with earplugs, you may want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, you cannot go wrong booking La Fortuna Lodge.

This place is great
There is nature all around. I very much enjoyed swinging in the hammock looking at nature.
It is about a 30 minute walk to City center, but there are a few restaurants within 10 minutes. There is also a grocery store two minutes away
There is an adventurous "river walk" on property that we enjoyed.
The few cons were the breakfast wasn't the greatest for the price. Also the air conditioner weezed the last day... But we never notified them about it, so can't blame them for...
This was an amazing hotel, the property was beautiful and there are trails for you to explore through the jungle. The rooms were simple and rustic, not too fancy which is exactly what we were looking for. The staff, including Diego, is extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. Would not hesitate to go back!
The front desk and kitchen staff are incredible and always willing to help in every way to make your stay a great one. I booked all my tours through the hotel and they did not disappoint. The rooms were cleaned every day.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They helped set up telescopes so we could see the birds and sloths in the trees. Hot tub outside our room was a nice touch. Rooms were large and comfortable. Only downsides were there really isn’t a bar or place to have evening drinks. Also the cost of bottled water was ridiculous ($30 for two bottles of Fiji water).

My boyfriend and I traveled to Costa Rica for the first time at the end of May, and began our trip at the Arenal Volcano. We chose to stay at Hotel Heliconias because it was so reasonably priced and had received great reviews from other users, even though it is 20-30 minutes from La Fortuna town. We cannot say enough about Hotel El Silencio Del Campo! First, the people who work here are excellent. They were very helpful, positive and clearly cared about our experience. I had my birthday while we stayed there and they helped my husband purchase flowers and a cake. The woman who cleaned our room made an adorable figure out of the towels. The front desk folks also helped us make a reservation at Travesia (which I highly recommend). When we asked for recommendations for pizza take out...
We stayed here for 4 nights. It was very nice and comfortable with a beautiful view of the volcano when the clouds weren’t low. It was close to many things we did in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Place is just as shown in pictures. Retreat is gated. The breakfast that is available down the road has 3 options with fresh delicious fruit. My stay at Los Lagos could not have been anymore magical! The resort is beautiful, so many hidden places to explore. I saw so many birds, lizards, wild boars and other critters during my walks. We had so much fun here, and it was a wonderful place to come and relax after a day of activities. Very unique cabin, with porch right on the pond. Friendly ducks, dogs, and it was great hearing all of the different bird calls. Very close to restaurants and things, but felt remite and private. Comfortable bed. Only complaint was the small bathroom without much room to put things.
