We spent one month traveling all around France with excellent accommodations at nearly every stop but this place was the best. Wonderful setting, comfortable room, excellent breakfasts, a special dinner, and two gracious hosts. We highly recommend it.

Had a great stay at the property, which is in a nice small village outside of Carcassonne. The breakfast was very nice, with various breads and jams fruits and such. The bathroom was quite large and the room had ample pace and such for clothes. There is a restaurant about 50m away that is very good. Probably the best part is that the proprietrix is wonderful.
We stayed at Le Grand Bassin Guesthouse for one night before picking up our Le Boat for a 10-day cruise east. I can say without hesitation that we had a perfect stay! We arrived on Castelnaudry by train, and then walked to the guesthouse, so of course we were behind schedule. Sophie waited patiently for us and, on our arrival, called Chez David in town to make sure we would get a table for dinner.
Sophie is an exceptional host, and our room was clean and comfortable. We did not have breakfast...
The owner was very accommodating. This is an old property. The rooms are large. There is an art gallery attached to the building and concerts can be held here. We were there in off season. I suspect the town and hotel could be busy in the summerGreat town. Friendly people.
