You can simply walk to mall (5 minutes) or take a buggy from hotel there as they do a shuttle between the hotels. Everyone was very kind and concerned about our experience. The hotel is beautiful and located on the edge of the historic area. The rooms are comfortable. They serve an amazing breakfast and tea. When on the first day, restaurant staff learned I was a vegetarian, they went and made special food for me! Then, afterwards they checked in with me to make sure I had a good selection. Quite amazing. A wonderful choice in Penang.

We wanted to stay in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Old Town and his hotel has great reviews and was uniquely designed to showcase the local culture compared to other more modern hotels. The hotel was a former business/residence that was converted The breakfast buffet was nice, the room was big, clean and the bathroom was modern. It was just a few blocks away from good eateries. There is only 8 rooms in this hotel and was a nice boutique hotel. Well worth the stay.

What a gem! Staying at the Muntri Mews was like lodging in a 19th century cultural museum. The hotel is part of the George Town Heritage & Hotels group, and it was the second one of the group I have stayed in. The previous experience was good, but this one was outstanding. The room was actually a two-level suite, and perhaps a bit much for a solo traveler, with three king-size beds available, but the affable manager Linda gave me a small gift that she admitted was a bribe to make sure my wife...

The room was wonderful. Very clean, modern, and spacious. Although the hotel is a little ways from the historical downtown, you can take the free bus (CAT) and get off at stop 11 and from there the hotel is less than a10 min walk. CAT made it very easy to get anywhere in town from the hotel. The only negative was the wifi was awful. It was constantly dropping and I had to reconnect multiple times each session.
