It was a phantastic experience at the monastery, which I can recommend to everybody who is willing to strip down on the comfort of standard hotels. A big bonus was the proximity to the massive monument of The Valley of the Fallen, which I was able to explore after the ordinary tourists left.
Last of us meets Sponge Bob. The hotel was wonderful for us but not for the usual reasons. The place had a nautical theme with an interesting galley/rooms/dining area. The place seemed empty but there were people checking in and out periodically. The staff was excellent--completely helpful, willing to accommodate where possible, all in all around some of the best we experienced in Spain. The odd parts to the building-- the nautical sitting room which had no one in it, The Gym was included...
