It has only six rooms, but they are well maintained and serviced. Extremely friendly staff. Great for a leisure stay, quiet and great Sri Lankan food (I understand western food is an option). Flexible menu if you give enough time for them to fetch crabs. I am considering another stay. This time I rented only two rooms, but more in the future. Excellent for a family outing. Well worth the money spent. Although the nearby beaches are not, the beach front of this property is well maintained.

You'll have to travel a long distance to reach the place given its geographical location: Far from everything and everybody. But that's what you came for, isn't it? Once the entirety of the peninsula crossed, having found yourself on a topsy-turvy road during a couple of kilometres more, then turning to the right 'somewhere' on a dirt track, you'll eventually face a solid portal with the word "dolphin" written on it. Tatum Villas Villa is a beautiful new lodge, 5-stars for a reason. The staff are all lovely and extremely eager to please; rooms spacious, gorgeous, and private; and food very good. My only quibble was that rains had flooded the road into the nearby entrance of the Wilpattu park, so doing a safari drive involves a 1.5 hr ride to the eastern park entrance, which kind of defeats the purpose of staying on the quieter western edge. Still a beautiful place to stay, though.

We loved this accommodation. It was the best of all the places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The accommodation is unique, new and spotless clean. The staff were amazing and very helpful with anything we required, and the location was perfect. If you want to experience holidaying in a village, then this is the place. Tourism is minimal here, so you get to see the real thing. We hired a couple of scooters, as the area was quite safe to ride, with very few vehicles on the roads. It was nice to roam...

We stayed for two nights and planned a boat excursion on the Puttalam lagoon as well as a safari in Wilpattu National Park. The Sanctuary is located a convenient 14km from the park and a similar distance from the lagoon. The team arranged every single detail of our trip, and it was absolutely wonderful. My experience at De Silva was excellent from start to finish, largely because of the people who run it so thoughtfully. Before arriving, Andrea was consistently quick to respond to emails, answering questions clearly and thoroughly. Once at the resort, the same professionalism and warmth carried through across every area.
